Dubai is known to be the hotbed of pirated films, especially those
from the Hindi film industry. However, the government is trying to
do a clean up act and showcase its new stand with the hosting of a
film festival. Not just hosting it, but also getting some big names
to be a part of it.
Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor will be special visitors at the
Dubai International Films Festival as the first look of their film,
Dillii 6 will be unveiled there. The fifth annual DIFF will start
from December 11th to the 18th.
However this is going to be a perfect opportunity for director
Rakeysh Mehra to unveil his film among all international films.
Dillii 6 is releasing next year on 20th February. Looking at the fan
following of Abhishek Bachchan the makers of Dilli 6 thinks it's a
great chance to cash in on this. Apparently Mehra is busy finishing
the first look of the film.
Apart from Dillii 6 , Anil Kapoor and Freida Pinto will be there to
promote their Slumdog Millionaire . Preity Zinta will also be there
as Deepa Mehta's Heaven on Earth will be showcased. Actress turned
filmmaker Nandita Das will promote her directorial debut film
Firaaq . Priyadarshan's Kanchivaram will also be featured.
