It's only a matter of time, but Abhishek, Jaya and Amitabh
Bachchan's staff will once again be walking to the Siddhivinayak
temple at Prabhadevi.
Yesterday, just as Abhishek returned home to Jalsa after a vigil at
Lilavati Hospital, where his father is being treated, a servant told
him, "Saheb theek ho jayenge toh hum sab Siddhivinayak jayenge."
Abhishek turned around and said, "Tum log hi kyon? Hum sab saath
mein jayenge."
It may be recalled that Bachchan, Jaya and Abhishek walked bare feet
from their Juhu home to Siddhivinayak on June 28 this year, to seek
the Lord's blessings. The Bachchans started the journey at 1.45 am
and covered the 10-km stretch in two hours, without a single halt.
According to Siddhivinayak officials, a special aarti for the ailing
star was held on Tuesday.
"Some of his close friends met us and requested that we perform an
aarti," said one of the temple trustees, requesting anonymity. The
temple officials then sent special prasad for the Big B to Lilavati
on Tuesday evening.
Doctors attending to Bachchan said the operation for infection,
inflammation and perforation in the small and large intestines went
on for two hours between 6.30 and 8.30 pm yesterday.
A team of four surgeons were present during the operation. "He will
be here for 10 days," said a doctor. Meanwhile, late last night only
Jaya remained with him at the hospital as his friends and family
went home to rest.
