Shah Rukh praises 'Shootout'
One film that caught the fancy of just about everyone at the recently concluded G.I.F.A. Awards in Malaysia is the Sanjay Gupta-Ekta Kapoor produced SHOOTOUT AT LOKHANDWALA, being directed by Apoorva Lakhia. When Jeetendra watched the 5-minute promo for the first time at the press meet, he couldn’t stop praising Lakhia for the next 10 minutes. In fact, the media reaction to the promo was also marvelous, going by the ovation that followed.

Another person who seemed mesmerized by the promo was none other than Shah Rukh Khan, who was hosting a few segments of the award ceremony. “Wow! The project looks big. It’s simply amazing,” he reacted instantaneously, soon after the promo ended.

Meanwhile, Lakhia is gung ho about the film. Was it tough putting the project together since it stars the biggest of names in the business? “Believe me, it wasn’t tough! Abhishek and I have a pact that he’d star in every film I make. And the pact has now extended to Mr. Bachchan too. Sanju is a friend, plus the producer, and Suniel too is a buddy. But, I admit, I did have problems casting guys on the ‘other side of the law’, namely Vivek Oberoi and Tusshar. Tusshar hadn’t portrayed a negative character and was apprehensive initially. Vivek too didn’t want to portray something he had attempted earlier, in COMPANY,” Lakhia reveals.

The title makes it a Mumbai-centric film and coupled with the issue it tackles, does it cater to a niche territory audience? “We might change the title to SHOOTOUT. The words ‘At Lokhandwala’ might be used in smaller fonts below the main title. That’s a possibility. As for the theme, it’s based on a true-incident and therefore, might hold sectional appeal. But we’ve compensated it with big stars to attract the universal audience,” he states.

Bachchans kick start 2007
Joginder Tuteja, IndiaGlitz [Friday, December 08, 2006]

It would be an eventful beginning for the Bachchans as both father and son kick start the New Year with a film each coming one after another.
While 'Zamaanat' would mark the beginning of the year for the elder Bachchan on January 5th, son Abhishek would be enjoying a much higher profile 'Guru' the very next Friday i.e. January 12th. 'Guru' especially is expected to embark on a successful route since the promos are looking quite interesting and the music has reached the top of the charts while displacing hot selling 'Dhoom 2'.
Also for those who believe in the 'theory of jinxes', there are finally cheers all around since Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have together delivered a massive hit in the form of 'Dhoom 2' after a disastrous outing in 'Umrao Jaan'. With the two paired as husband and wife in 'Guru', the expectations form 'Guru' are at an all time high!

Madame Sherawat's 'Mayya Mayya' premiers
Joginder Tuteja, IndiaGlitz [Monday, December 11, 2006]

In an exclusive dekko, Mallika Sherawat's 'Mayya Mayya' was premiered on Saturday.
As expected, temperatures are bound to soar as the song is unleashed in a big way across music channels this week. The song lives up to the expectations that one has from Madame Sherawat as she sizzles, teases and gets your adrenaline soaring as she gyrates on screen.
This A.R.Rahman number with strong Middle East flavor was always meant to be the highlight of the album and hence it was expected that it would be making a late appearance when the film will be near its release.
With each of the songs showcased so far ['Tere Bina', 'Barso Re'] being hits and the album already on the top of the charts, 'Mayya Mayya' is poised to take the success stry of the album forward and keep the film in news before it arrives on Jan 12th.
It must be mentioned that this song set in a club/bar also features Abhishek Bachchan. Stay tuned!

Suniel Shetty's new production 'Raaste'
Suniel Shetty held the project close to his heart for quite a while now. He wanted to announce it at an appropriate time, at an appropriate event. Now it can be told!

Suniel has joined hands with Shobha and Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms Ltd. for RAASTE, which will star Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Sikandar [son of Anupam and Kirron Kher, being introduced in WOODSTOCK VILLA] and Aishwarya Rai in principal roles.

Scripted and directed by Vikram Singh [it’s his first project], this writer was amongst those present at G.I.F.A., Kuala Lumpur to witness the promo of the film. No faces of the stars were depicted, just racing of cars and captions that came along side each name. What one could gather was that the three friends turn foes because of one woman. Right, Suniel?

Surprisingly, Suniel isn’t acting in any of his home-productions, be it BHAGAM BHAG [Ashtavinayak are his partners here] or RAASTE.

Abhishek Bachchan has created a style of his own

------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- -
-----------
Enkayaar, Bollywood Trade News Network

Style is defined as an adornment, which adds mystique to the persona
of an icon, more so an icon of the silver screen, and its quotient
of success is defined by the way it comes to be associated with the
persona, if it is defined as a physical attribute. That way,
Abhishek Bachchan can be said to have created a style of his own,
and can claim to be a style icon. The bearded look that he adorns is
a definite fashion statement, which is a by-product of a physical
attribute. Abhishek consciously or unconsciously therefore is
following in the footsteps of his illustrious father, the Big B
whose stylish whiskers had become a rage during his times. Abhishek
has gone one step further that his father in developing his style
quotient by bringing back double button cuffs in the shirt which
were hovering on the periphery as a fashion statement till
reinvented by Abhishek. Another style quotient that has been
established by Abhishek has been wearing of the wristband watch,
which seems to be more of his extension. Various other stars sport
the watch but when Abhishek sports it becomes the extension of his
persona.

Unconsciously Shah Rukh Khan also tried to create a fashion
statement of his own through the dresses that he adorned in DON, but
could not succeed, and as such his attempt to create a statement of
his own still has to take off. Surprisingly enough Hrithik also has
yet to create a style of his own, may be the wafer thin `duppata'
which he adorned through out DHOOM-2 could become the style
statement for him.

The style statement is an entity, which is outside the domain of
hits that a star has to his career, and it somehow sticks to the
personality and becomes an extension of the star. The long side
burns first time became an international rage when Elvis Presley
started sporting it, and grudgingly Beatles icon John Lennon also
adopted is as his leitmotif, to sort of address to the patrons of
Presley. It was left to John Travolta to bring it back into vogue
when he appeared in them in the Broken Arrow.

Styles from the past, which have been a rage, include the guru
kurtas, which were brought into the vogue by Rajesh Khanna and the
scarf that continues to adorn the throat of Dev Anand even at this
age, giving him the debonair look.

Surprisingly enough as fashion statement, female actors do not seem
to have created a style statement that can be a distinct attribute
of their persona. In the case of female actors, there style
statements are reflected through the clothes, as a purple sari of
Madhuri Dixit in HUM AAPKE HAIN KAUN had become a rage of the
nation, and to an extension Rani Mukerjee for BUNTY AUR BABLI
especially the shirt type kurtas has achieved same effect.

May be the fashion designers and the stylists need to work to carve
a distinct identity for the female actors so that it becomes their
signature statement.

Mummy ki Rai

Has Vrinda Rai given the go-ahead to Abhishek Bachchan?

Ram Kamal Mukherjee and Kunal M Shah

Rai ki mummy: The trio at the premiere of Sarkar last year

The fact that Aishwarya Rai has found acceptance in the Bachchan
household is common knowledge. The latest is that the Rai family has
given the nod to Abhishek too.

So far only Aishwarya was seen moving around with the Bachchans,
accompanying them to music releases, parties and even on their trip
to Varanasi. Ash's family was nowhere in the frame. But now it seems
that even the Rai parivaar has accepted Abhishek. Five days ago,
when Aishwarya Rai went to Paris for an assignment, Abhishek
accompanied her and her mother, Vrinda Rai, there. Ash was clad in a
simple, black suit while Abhishek sported a long overcoat. The three
of them spent some time in the lounge at the airport.

An evening in Paris: Abhishek Bachchan with fans at an airport in
Paris, and (inset) with Aishwarya Rai
"Ash came with Abhishek, and as soon as they entered the airport,
they caught everyone's attention," says an eyewitness. "They tried
to walk very fast and reach the check-in counter without being
stopped by fans. But their fans didn't let go of this opportunity.
They made full use of cellphones and clicked pictures of their
favourite stars," says our source, who was present at the airport at
that time.

When we contacted Aishwarya's business manager Hari Singh, he
said, "Yes, Aishwarya has left to shoot for a commercial in Paris.
She has gone with her mother. I have no idea about Abhishek as I was
unwell and I didn't accompany her to the airport this time." But our
sources confirmed that, "Abhishek was around and while checking in,
he was spotted talking and cracking jokes with Ash, while the latter
kept giggling. Not just that, he was also seen bonding with her
mother, Vrinda Rai."

"Initially, Vrinda was worried about the Abhishek-Ash relationship, "
says our source.

A close friend of Abhishek confirms, "Ash is very much part of the
family, and she is not only invited to all their functions but is
also seen helping Jayaji serve food."

Rumours are rife about Ash-Abhishek' s alleged wedding. However, both
actors have denied it. Incidentally, Abhishek and Aishwarya are back
in town to attend the premiere of Baabul. We've heard that Amitabh
personally invited Ash, through SMS.

Guru - Finally a worthy comeback for Mithun Chakraborty
Joginder Tuteja, IndiaGlitz [Wednesday, December 06, 2006]

In the month of January, it will be 2 years since Mithun Chakraborty made his comeback with 'Elaan'. Not to mention that it turned out to be pretty damp squib in the end.
The film flopped and though he had a decent hit in the form of 'Lucky-No Time For Love', his was the poorest etched role in the Salman Khan-Sneha Ullal starrer. Playing the role of a 'guru' in both 'Classic-Dance Of Love' and 'Chingaari' didn't help either as the films were commercial disasters though he did come for some critical appreciation in the latter.
Acting in small time films like 'Sun Zarra' and 'Kachchi Sadak' were just not worthy enough and though there were sparks of vintage Mithunda in Aditya Dutt's 'Dil Diya Hai' a few months back, it was still not good enough.
Now all eyes are set in Mani Ratnam's 'Guru' which releases on January 12th (exactly 2 years after 'Elaan' which came on January 14th 2005). The film appears to be the first ever which would be truly utilizing Mithun's potential as he plays the role of Manikdas Guptha a.k.a Nanaji.
Nananji is shown to be a veteran who runs a newspaper called Swathantra and is highly impressed with the kind of fire that he could feel within the character played by Abhishek Bachchan i.e. Guru. In spite of knowing Guru as a young lad whose walk towards his destination seemed too fast, he attributed it to his young blood. But later when he was made aware about Guru's so-called evil ways, he wanted to fight and destroy him.
A showoff that indeed sounds highly promising, one keenly anticipates the release of the film.

GURU will showcase Abhishek's acting prowess

Bollywood Trade News Network

View Guru Movie StillsAbhishek and Mithun Chakrborty play adversaries in the Mani Ratnam’s GURU. Where Mithun plays a media baron, Abhishek is the go-getter businessman.  It’s a story that will showcase Abhishek's acting prowess to the fullest. After all Abhishek is sharing space with Mithun who is a master in his own right and a completely natural actor. Infact the film has some fantastic one-liners for Abhishek that are truly ‘worth a taali’ scenes like when he says, "Maine Abhi Jhoot Bolna Nahi Sikha, Mai Bambai Abhi Main Naya Hoon…” and many more. So with an actor like Mithun to match and a director like Mani Ratnam who only demands the best, one can safely expect a hot shot performance from Bachchan Jr. after all talent can speak in more languages than just muscle power.

Well, seems like AB Jr. is now all ready to play `papa' onscreen. By
now it's known that in Shaad Ali's Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, he is playing
father to twin sons named Hrithik and Roshan. And the twin syndrome
doesn't end there. Even in Mani Ratnam's Guru he has twins. But there
is some clarification on the recent reports that say that Abhishek and
Ash are blessed with twin boys in Guru.

The fact is that Abhishek and Aishwarya have twin daughters in Guru
played by real life twin sisters, Sana and Alina. Says Sana, "I don't
understand where these stories came up from. Ash and Abhishek have twin
daughters in the film played by myself and my sister Alina".

The twin girls just appear in one scene in the last frame of the film
standing with Aishwarya Rai backstage when Abhishek is addressing a
crowd.

It takes one talented actor to admire another talented man. Abhishek
Bachchan is totally floored by the cinematographer of his film Guru.
The man in question, Rajiv Menon is so meticulous about his job that
he doesn't hesitate to make last minute changes in the lighting on the
sets of this Mani Ratnam film. Abhishek says he was really impressed
when he asked Rajiv how he could afford to do this, and the latter
replied that if Abhishek could change his dialogues on the sets, he
too could afford to change the lighting at the last moment!

"No one wants to sign me on" - Abhishek Bachchan
According to Vidya Balan, Mani Rathnam's Guru is Abhishek Bachchan's show all the way. The child-man at the center of unstoppered attention is delighted. "Did Vidya really say that? So sweet of her. Any actor getting to work with Mani is lucky. I've worked with him twice and I feel twice lucky. He's a sheer pleasure to work with . Rest assured when you work with a director of Mani's caliber he's going to challenge you into discovering new areas of your personality. This is what has happened in Guru. Working with Mani is a huge learning experience”.

Abhishek has just shot for Shaad Ali's Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom. "I'm here with Shaad Ali, Preity and Lara Dutta…all friends. It's great fun. I'm absolutely relaxed as long as I get to work with friends. It's very important for me to be working in a comfortable atmosphere. Fortunately I've worked mostly with friends so far. Or directors who've become friends in the course of a film being made. That explains why I'm doing Shaad's next and Goldie Behl's second Drona."

Now that Abhishek is being recognized as a star to reckon with, what would he rather be known as : a star or an actor? "An actor of course. Because once you're a capable actor the stardom happens automatically. Isn't that what happened in my dad's case? "

Abhishek hasn't signed any new films. "No one wants to sign me on, what to do," he mock-sighs, and then gets serious. "No matter what you say about my career I'm not satisfied. We creative people are very selfish. Every time you see a film that doesn't star you, you wish you had done it. When I look around I feel there's so much good work being done and how little I've achieved. I'd like to do a lot more work. I see the kind of work my dad is doing at his age. I can only hope and pray I'm able to do that caliber and quantity of work when I reach dad's age."

Bad`show' Khan!

Date Updated: 12/4/2006

Sources in the industry affirm that the cold war between Shah Rukh
Khan and Amitabh Bachchan has intensified after Khan snatched Kaun
Banega Crorepati 3 right from under the Big B's nose. The battle
lines have been quietly but irrevocably drawn. Even their cliques are
now clearly defined.

Icy vibes

If Amitabh Bachchan has firmly aligned himself with Samajwadi Party
leader Amar Singh and Anil Ambani, Shah Rukh makes his political and
social affiliations equally evident by hobnobbing with Sonia Gandhi
and her family and attending Nita Mukesh Ambani's birthday party.

The tension between the two sides has been cleverly concealed until
now, but the cracks were obvious at Sikander Kher's (Anupam and
Kirron Kher's son) birthday party last month. The vibes between the
Bachchan clan (represented by Jaya, Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya
Rai) and Shah Rukh Khan were I-C-Y.

Reveals a source present at the do, "The party was in full swing
until SRK walked in at 2 am. He went up to Mr Bachchan and greeted
him. Mr Bachchan is always polite, so he greeted SRK cordially. But
the rest of the Bachchan parivar looked through him. Even though
Jayaji is very fond of Shah Rukh, none of them can overlook what he's
been doing to Mr Bachchan."

`Ash'es to dust

The source adds that the Bachchans, along with Ash and a few friends,
were seated at one table and Shah Rukh took the table directly
opposite them. "After greeting each other and exchanging formal
hellos, it was evident that Bachchan and Khan wanted to their own
space. Throughout the night, not a single word was exchanged between
the camps. In fact, SRK wanted to strike up a conversation with Ash
but since she was stuck to Abhishek's side, it became impossible."

It may be recalled that Aishwarya still has to forgive Shah Rukh for
unceremoniously ousting her from his home production, Chalte Chalte,
replacing her with Rani Mukerji. SRK reportedly showed her the door
after her then boyfriend Salman Khan wreaked havoc on the sets.

And now with SRK's doing KBC3 — which was AB's property until now —
Khan has made matters worse. It is learnt that Amitabh is quite
miffed with Star and their attitude during his illness. A source
says, "Mr Bachchan was literally told to come back to work after his
illness and shoot some episodes. He put his foot down and refused.
Things started going downhill from that point onwards."

SRK's announcement hasn't come as a surprise to anyone. An insider
reveals, "Samir Nair has been wanting to get Shah Rukh onboard for
quite some time. This reached Amitabh's ears even before a formal
announcement was made."

Putting up an act

Says a source known to the Bachchans, "All this talk about Mr
Bachchan not being interested in doing KBC3 is hogwash. He had almost
committed to doing it when SRK lobbied hard and pipped him to the
post. He's deeply hurt at the way SRK has gone about the whole thing
but prefers not to talk about it."

As has always been the case, the hostilities will remain shrouded
behind a wall of fake civility from both sides. The warring factions
continue to deny problems and address each other respectfully in
public.

A filmmaker on the condition of anonymity says, "There is definitely
a war brewing between SRK and the Bachchans, but no star, producer or
director likes to wash their dirty linen in public. When there is a
problem, they will sort it out between themselves."

Neither Amitabh Bachchan nor Sameer Nair of Star returned our SMSes
to comment on the story.

Look what Guru has to say about 'GURU'
Joginder Tuteja, IndiaGlitz [Thursday, November 30, 2006]

Come January 12th and Mani Ratnam's 'Guru' would be making a splash at theatres all over. While much is being said about Mani Ratnam's experienced touch enhancing Abhishek Bachchan's performance in the film, have a dekko at some of the quotable quotes by the character he plays in the film - 'Gurukant Desai'
"If you don't dream you will be stuck to your village all your life."
"There is a saying in our village if people say bad things about you, you must be doing something good."
"I don't want to walk...I want to run."
"If a law can be made in a day, it can be changed in a day."
"I only know one thing...there is only person like me here...only on Guru."
"I don't fear the public. I am the public."
Makes you all psyched up for catching the film the day of its release, isn't it?

A R Rahman, Manirathnam do it again for Guru
IndiaGlitz [Thursday, November 30, 2006]

When A R Rahman and Manirathnam combine, they simply break all records in audio sales.
Ever since Roja, the two had come together on several occasions. All their songs have topped the audio charts and the cassettes always made roaring sales. They have re-created their magic again in Guru.
The Hindi movie starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai has musical score by Rahman. The audio was out a couple of weeks ago. It has now emerged as a hot cake in the Chennai audio market.
The album has seven songs and Rahman has shown his mastery by coming up with a variety of genres.
Popular music composer Bappi Lahiri has sung a song besides Hariharan, Shreya Ghosal, Alka Yagnik, Chinmayee, Chitra and of course Rahman himself.
Now Guru maybe dubbed in Tamil and so the songs will also be out in Tamil.

'Sarkar' sequel not based on 'Godfather 2'
29th Nov 2006  21.15 IST
By ApunKaChoice

While Sarkar was inspired from Francis Ford Coppola’s film ‘Godfather’, the movie’s sequel will be completely original.

Even before comparisons could arise, Ram Gopal Varma has made it clear that ‘Sarkar 2’ will have nothing common with ‘Godfather 2’ in which actor
Al Pacino (as the son) takes over the mafia business after the death of his father (Marlon Brando).

Sarkar 2 will have the father ( Amitabh Bachchan ) continuing to be the central figure. His son ( Abhishek Bachchan ) will be his right hand. The
movie will also have Aishwarya Rai playing a very strong character.

The movie’s story will reportedly revolve around the politics of rural Maharashtra and Delhi.

Recently, there have been rumours that Ramu has deferred the idea of making ‘Sarkar 2’ because Aishwarya Rai, the leading lady, is giving second thoughts to the project.

However, the maverick filmmaker has lashed out at such rumours and announced that the movie will indeed be made as scheduled in March 2007.

The movie’s three main stars, Big B, Abhishek and Aishwarya, have reportedly confirmed their dates to the filmmaker.

Ramu is presently busy with his dream project Ram Gopal Varma Ki Sholay , which lands into a new controversy everyday second day.

Abhishek - a busy man in Bollywood

By Subhash K. Jha, IANS

Download Dhoom 2 WallpapersIf hectic schedules define stardom, then Abhishek Bachchan has got to be the biggest star of the moment.
He returned to Mumbai after receiving the Yash Bharti Award in Lucknow last week and it was time to leave again for Delhi to shoot for Shaad Ali's "Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom".
But busy schedules don't bother him much. Right now he is thrilled to have received an award earlier won by his parents - Amitabh and Jaya.
"I feel honoured, and very humbled. I don't think I deserve it. But since the Uttar Pradesh government in all its wisdom thought me worthy of it, I couldn't say no to it. My upbringing doesn't permit me to disrespect the will of my elders.
"I humbly accepted the invitation of Mulayam Singhji and the Uttar Pradesh government. I maintain that there're people far worthier of the honour than me," Abhishek told IANS.
It's a packed week for Abhishek. The return of the "Dhoom" series has him charged.
"I don't look at it as a big film. I look at it as my film. I'm glad they chose the star-cast that they did. It gave me the opportunity to work with some of my best friends in the industry. We had an absolute blast making 'Dhoom 2'. And I've very fond memories.
Download Dhoom 2 Wallpapers"While me and Uday Chopra were the hosts, Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha Basu were the new additions to the 'Dhoom' family. It was wonderful welcoming them in."
Abhishek loved the shooting in Rio de Janeiro, Durban and Goa.
"After having seen the film, I feel the camaraderie comes through. There's no attempt to outdo one another. We had a lot of fun and that feeling is bound to show up on screen. I feel it's very important for the actors to be comfortable with one another. And our comfort level couldn't get any higher."
Abhishek thoroughly enjoyed shooting in Rio.
"It's by far the most laid back country I've shot in. The greatest fun was to be not recognised. The anonymity was a boon. It was wonderful to walk on the beaches and have dinner at roadside cafes.
"It was very liberating to have a life that we haven't experienced for a very long time."
But Bipasha was singled out for special treatment in Rio.
"She was mistaken for a Brazilian beauty until we let them know she's from India. We guys are protective about her. When she's with Hrithik, Uday and me, we didn't want any untoward incident.
Download Dhoom 2 Wallpapers"Needless to say, Bipasha is more than capable of looking after herself. She's a Bengal tigress. Not scared of anyone. Has a fierce temper and we're all very scared of her actually.
Abhishek is all praise for the styling.
"The stylist Anaida is the real hero of the film. The look of 'Dhoom' is its USP. I'm not dressed up like any cop in the city of Mumbai. So to that extent, it's not a realistic look.
"'Dhoom' takes creative liberties. It's all about an attitude. Anaida has presented all the actors in a light never seen before."
Some people feel Abhishek has been doing too many serious-toned films, and that "Dhoom 2" is just the antidote.
But he disagrees. "I started last year with 'Bunty Aur Babli', which was a fun film. Then I did 'Sarkar' and 'Bluffmaster'. This year I did 'Umrao Jaan' side by side with 'Dhoom 2'.
"You've to keep exciting yourself as an actor. I try to work in films I believe in. But I think I've managed a fair balance."
Download Umrao Jaan WallpapersAfter two remakes - "Don" and "Umrao Jaan" - and several sequels does Abhishek think there's room for another sequel?
"Remakes and sequels have always been there. Are we forgetting there was sequel to Mahesh Manjrekar's 'Vaastav' four years ago? Yes, there has been more than a normal share of sequels this year. And why not?
"Every director has the right to creative freedom. As for me, if tomorrow another 'Dhoom' film is made, I wouldn't miss it for the world."
Final question. Who's the best in "Dhoom 2"?
"According to me, the best performance is by Uday Chopra. As for Hrithik, who am I to comment? His talent and dedication is far superior to most people in the industry. He looks better than he ever did, if that's possible. In fact, every actor will shock the audience."

Nicole Kidman was seen hobnobbing with Abhishek at Omega bash in Geneva.
Geneva: Life has never been this bright for Abhishek Bachchan. While the whole country is going ga-ga over his likely marriage plans with sizzling Miss Rai, AB’s baby is busy getting up-close-and-personal with Hollywood’s highest paid actress Nicole Kidman.
We caught Abhishek Bachchan in Geneva, attending a party thrown in by premium watch brand Omega for all its global brand ambassadors. The actor—one of the international brand ambassadors of Omega—shared a cosy corner with Nicole Kidman.
"This is the first time I’ve met Nicole Kidman actually. She is a wonderful lady and it feels great to meet another fellow actor from a different industry, exchange tips and get some pointers," said Bachchan.
Riding high on the international success of Dhoom 2, Bachchan said he has a long way to go in the industry and contrary to popular belief he is not getting married to anyone.
"I’m not getting married contrary to popular belief. I’m very busy working. As and when there will be any plans on marriage everybody will be told," said Bachchan.
About the successful opening of Dhoom 2 in theatres abroad, he said, "When a film does well offshore or overseas, it shows that we are reaching out to more people. It feels good that more people are now noticing Indian cinema and what we are all about. It feels nice when a film does well. We are like national servants who entertain people for a living. The more number of people we mange to entertain, the better it is for us."
He said that coming to Geneva is like coming home for him since he has spent eight years of his life in the city.
"I have studied in Switzerland. So, Geneva is like homecoming to me. I have spent eight years of my life here. Just down the road there’s this city near Geneva where I used to spend time as a kid. It feels wonderful to be back," said Bachchan.

"How does Abhi-Ash marriage impact your personal life?" - Big B
Joginder Tuteja, IndiaGlitz [Saturday, December 02, 2006]

Scribes in London experienced the chill in the voice of Big B when they pestered him on the marriage rumors of son Abhishek and Aishwarya.
In the city for promotion of 'Babul', apart from answering queries on his next Friday's release, Amitabh Bachchan was patient enough to respond to the marriage rumors. He took a balanced approach by stating that he was happy about Abhishek being a normal child and respected his feelings and matters of heart.
Beyond this he didn't comment any further and left it open to speculations and debate. Coming from a respected senior actor like Big B, it was a clear cut message that he didn't want any further discussion on the topic.
This is the reason why Big B was indeed peeved when he was asked the same question by another journo in a one to one conversation. Poor guy was in a surprise as Big B replied back by asking him how did his personal life get affected by what was happening in the personal life of Bachchan family?
With a sheepish grin on his face, the journo was left with no option but to make a hasty exit but not before getting a dose of ever famous chilly response from the actor. Chapter closed; there was no one from this moment on who dared to question him again on the marriage rumors.
Coming to the professional front of Bachchans, while Abhishek Bachchan has been a contributing factor to the stupendous box office outcome of 'Dhoom 2' with the fantabulous figures of the first week being out, Big B seems to be having a winner in the hand with 'Babul' sounding extremely promising. Also, Abhi and Ash should have reasons to smile as 'Guru' is fast catching up on the wish list of film lovers too.

Yes, you read it right! Abhishek Bachchan will be playing father to
Hrithik Roshan in his upcoming Yashraj project Jhoom Barabar Jhoom.
Only this time Hrithik Roshan isn't a single person but two of them.

Ok let's clear your confusion. The fact is that Abhishek plays father
to twin boys in the film directed by Shaad Ali. And these twin boys
are named Hrithik and Roshan.

Currently shooting for a commercial in Paris, when Abhishek informed
his pal Hrithik Roshan about the same, Hrithik was obviously amused.
