Remember an extravagant project titled as 'Taalismaan' that was
announced last year.

It is unlikely that anyone who has seen the striking promo
photographs of Amitabh Bachchan will forget the film.

He was seen with long flowing white hair, a shield covering half of
his face and a warrior get up mounted on a white horse.

For all those people who are expecting the flick, there is good news.

The movie based on the famous Hindi novel Chandrakanta will be
starting its shooting towards the end of this year.

The team behind 'Taalisman' is still stuck up in the pre production
stage completing their research process to do maximum justice to the
fantasy story.

It is also being said that a good part of the movie will be shot in
the jungles of the Kingdom of Bhutan.

Other than Big B, the high budget film will also be having Aishwarya
Rai, Sanjay Dutt and Abhishek Bachchan in lead roles.

While Aish will be seen as a princess, Sanjay will be giving life to
a negative character.

'Taalismaan' to be produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra will be directed
by Ram Madwani.

Ram debuted with a movie called 'Let's Talk' and has also made a
documentary on Mr.Bachchan titled as 'Everlasting Light'.

The film will tell a gripping tale of friendship, love and a group
of men who stop war through magic.

The melodious songs of gDelhi-6 have already won the hearts of
music lovers, but master composer A.R. Rehman is still busy working
on its background music, less than two weeks before the scheduled
release.

Rahman, whose schedules went haywire due to the commitments in Los
Angeles for the Golden Globe award for his score in gSlumdog
Millionnaireh, has apparently been working frantically in his
Chennai studio.

Mehra flew to Chennai Thursday night for portions of the background
music. There are rumours that the filmfs release may have to be
postponed, but the filmmaker is confident about Rahmanfs musical
genius and is sure all deadlines will be met.

gAs far as Ifm concerned wefre on. The background score is nearly
done. Ifm flying down with one reel that needs looking into and the
mixing is now on. When itfs Rahman you know the pace and by now
youfre used to it,h said Mehra.

The director couldnft stop raving about the songs created by Rahman
for the Abhishek Bachchan-Sonam Kapoor starrer.

gAnd look at the songs. The connect that theyfve found with
listeners is amazing. T-Series is not able to keep up with the
supply orders. I personally feel the background score is shaping up
even better. In fact we plan to release a separate album of the
background music,h Mehra said.

The songs that have already become popular
include gMasakallih, gArziyanh and the funky title song.

With eight years in tinsel town and a mixed bag of performances,
Abhishek Bachchan, who turned 33 on Thursday, says his acting style
is more like his mother Jaya's rather than of his iconic father
Amitabh Bachchan.

"Dad is an inspiration to the whole world. His creativity,
dedication are legendary. He is a great source of inspiration.
However, my acting style is more like my mother. I would like to
believe that I have the best of both," the Bachchan told PTI in an
email interview.

Abhishek, who suffered a setback at the box—office with "Drona" last
year, hopes for a turnaround with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's
ambitious film about Delhi Dilli 6

The actor considers himself fortunate to get an opportunity to work
with some of the veterans in Mehra's film like Waheeda Rehman, Rishi
Kapoor and Om Puri.

"The script was novel and had a great narrative but the clinching
factor was the cast. When Rakeysh discussed with me the cast of the
film, I just knew that I had to be a part of this film.

"Where can a actor get the opportunity to stand in the same frame as
all these great actors we had in this film. It was an awesome
experience," Abhishek said.

The story of "Dilli 6" is set in the backdrop of the walled city
with Abhishek and Sonam Kapoor in the lead.

When asked about his character in the movie, Abhishek said, "I am
playing the character of Roshan Mehra who is born and brought up in
New York.

"Roshan has never been to India but the course of the film brings
him to his ancestral home for the first time. The challenge of the
character was to stick out and blend into the surroundings," he
said.

Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan has turned 33 today. Unfortunately
he won't be able to celebrate his birthday with his family.

But there is spicy twist in Abhishek's birthday story, Delhi6
director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has plans to gift 51 different
kinds of pickles to Abhishek! Isn't it a tangy idea... According to
the buzz Abhishek has a taste for Indian food and during the
shooting of the film Delhi6 JrB used to gorge on local food and lots
of pickles. So Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra ordered the pickles from
Khari Bauli (Chandni Chowk, New Delhi).

Abhishek's schedule is very tight and he is presently on an
assignment to New York, his wife Aishwarya may join him to celebrate
his birthday as she too is parked in the city to promote her
Hollywood venture Pink Panther 2.

Jaya and Amitabh may or may not join him because of their prior
assignments but bahurani will make sure that Abhi's birthday is a
memorable one.

It is not easy being the child of the biggest star Indian cinema has
ever seen, and no one knows that better than Abhishek Bachchan. Born
on the 5th of February 1976, into the first family of Bollywood,
Abhishek is the second child of Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan.

As a child, Abhishek went to a variety of schools in Delhi and in
Mumbai and finally to Aiglon College in Switzerland. Abhishek, who
had to overcome dyslexia as a child, went on to Boston University to
complete his education, when he had to come back since his father's
company, ABCL had gone bankrupt.

While his father was struggling with the problems of the company,
Abhishek decided to help by pursuing acting as a career. His first
film, Refugee released in the year 2000. Directed by J.P Dutta, it
starred Kareena Kapoor opposite Abhishek. It failed to make an
impression at the Box Office.

For the next four years, Abhishek continued to make a number of
movies, but without any major success. Apart from a dozen Bollywood
films, he also acted in a few Bengali films like Desh, which starred
his mother Jaya Bachchan.

When he entered the film industry, Abhishek was engaged to Karishma
Kapoor. While Karishma's sister Kareena was a more frequent leading
lady for Abhishek (they also acted in Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon),
the engaged couple did one movie together - Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar
Kiya. The first major controversy in Abhishek's life came in 2002
when his engagement with Karishma broke. The media speculated a
number of reasons, but nothing was really established. Different
people quoted different reasons for the breakup. It lead to a
complete war between the Bachchans and the Kapoors.

In 2004, Abhishek starred in Mani Ratnam's Yuva which not only
received great critical appraisal, but also brought accolades
Abhishek s way for his acting talent. This was also the year he
acted in Dhoom which too was a major hit.

The biggest year of Abhishek's life, career-wise, was 2005. The
first release of the year was Bunty Aur Babli opposite Rani
Mukherjee, one of his most frequent leading ladies. While the two
made no public statements, it is generally assumed that they were
dating at this point. The other big hits of 2005 were Sarkar, Dus
and Bluffmaster.

In 2006, Abhishek featured in Karan Johar's comeback film Kabhi
Alvida Naa Kehna. His presence in the film established him as one of
A-list actors of Bollywood as he starred alongside Big B, SRK, Rani
Mukherjee and Preity Zinta. It is speculated that at this time he
was dating model and upcoming actress Dipannita Sharma. According to
sources Abhishek was still with Dipannita when he started working
with Ash in Umrao Jaan and the two developed something more than a
friendship.

Abhishek and Aishwarya fought rumours of a relationship and even
speculations of a secret wedding for months before declaring their
engagement. In February 2007, the two tied the knot.

The last film Abhishek did was Dostana opposite John Abraham and
Priyanka Chopra. The film was a roaring success.

Abhishek Bachchan is Sonam Kapoor's second co-star and the newcomer,
who is enjoying his company on the sets of Dilli 6, says they make a
good pair.

"Abhishek and I are very well-matched, height-wise. Though he is
very mischievous, I find him very mature," said Sonam.

Sonam debuted with Ranbir Kapoor in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's
Saawariya.

"While Ranbir is someone I've grown up with, Abhishek is someone I
can look up to as a co-star. He's really cool. In fact, I'm learning
so much from all my co-stars in Dilli 6.

"Abhishek and I, and our director Rakeysh (Omprakash) Mehra are so
much in awe of Waheeda Rehmanji. During rehearsals every time she
reads a scene there's pin drop silence for a few minutes. We're all
busy staring at her," she added.

The legendary Waheeda Rehman feels Sonam resembles her. "When
people, including Waheedaji herself, said I look like her, I feel
I'll just faint with pride."

The actress has one regret. "I lost my grandfather. I was very close
to him. And my one regret is I couldn't meet him before he passed
away. The last I saw him was about a fortnight before his death. My
nanaji was loads of fun."

Sonam has said no to a very big project with one of the industry's
biggest stars for a top-notch banner.

"The role was extremely sensuous. That's fine. But it also required
a lot of nudity and there was one major lovemaking scene. It was a
smashing opportunity for me to go beyond what I've done in
Saawariyaand my second film Dilli 6. But I can't do anything that
I'm not comfortable with."

So far both of Sonam's directors have been extremely protective of
her. "Sanjay sir would cover me up even when I walked from the set
to my van. And now Rakeysh is worse! He wants to see me in nothing
but salwar-kameez in Dilli 6."

For a sequence Sonam had to get into chic attire. "When I came on
the set, Rakeysh looked at me, and said I should quickly revert to
my salwar-kameez look. Because of my dad everyone treats me like a
child. I can't be doing any role that would make my father, mother
and the rest of my family cringe at the premiere. Call me a prude,
but that's that way I am.

"My father has a 40-year reputation in the industry. And I'm not
going to tarnish it."

Happily, Bollywood's the backdrop of this film and Zoya's got film
stars, filmmakers, fashion and costume designers shining in each
frame, making it the first production of its kind.

The story is that she's got over 20 prominent and interesting faces
from Bollywood involved in the narrative of Luck By Chance. Ritesh
explains, "In terms of how many celebs we have, the starcast is
quite big; but the film is an insider's journey into Bollywood and
shows what mayhem goes into making a Hindi film. So we had to take
real people from the industry. And all play themselves in the film."
A huge and challenging task. Ritesh adds, "Thank God Zoya didn't
write the script bringing all of them in one frame. It would have
been crazy. They all form an integral part of the narrative and each
appears at different intervals."

So in just three hours, the audience will get to feast on Bollywood
superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, John
Abraham, Ranbir Kapoor, Akshaye Khanna, Kareena Kapoor, Rani
Mukerji, Dia Mirza, Vivek Oberoi, Boman Irani and others. And, to
her credit, all these busy stars took time off their schedules to
shoot for Zoya... but none of them charged for their appearances.

"Everyone went out of their way to adjust a day or two. All of them
are friends who Farhan and Ritesh have worked with before,"says
Zoya.

"They know that we will not exploit them. There is a certain level
of trust between us and that's why the film was possible," she said.

Luck By Chance is presented by Big Pictures and Excel Entertainment
and has Farhan and the very watchable Konkona Sen Sharma in the
lead. The cherry on the cake is Hrithik Roshan, who plays a
superstar in the film.

In both Yuva and Guru, he worked hard to achieve the perfect look for
the character. Abhishek's role in the films was quite appreciated, so
we guess all that work did pay off.

And now, the actor is at it again. For his role in Raavan, Abhishek is
on a strict diet and has been travelling, shooting for the movie,
along with a personal trainer, Sameer Jora.

A source tells us, "Abhishek is on a no carb diet. And he's made sure
that if he won't have carbs then other people in the unit won't
either. So he doesn't let anyone have any sweets. But, he did eat a
ladoo on the sly once."

Abhishek Bachchan will be in New York for his birthday on 5
February. The actor will be flying to the Big Apple after he wraps
up the shooting of Mani Ratnam's Raavan. AB is currently in Orcha,
near Jhansi.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi 6 will release on 20 February and to
promote the film, the filmmaker will be taking his cast comprising
Abhishek Bachchan and to America, to kick start the campaign.
Talking from the sets of Raavan, the junior Bachchan said, "Once we
wrap up the shooting of Raavan, we will start with the promotional
campaign of Delhi 6."

The film won top honors at the Dubai Film Festival, which helped the
film to be announced in the international arena.

Abhishek's birthday, which is a special day for the Bachchans, will
have to be celebrated yet again, away from home. Last year, it was
on the sets of Drona in Jaipur where the family flew in from
different metros of the country to come together for his big day.

However Abhishek has little regrets, "I will be away from home, but
it's for the promotion of my film."

Delhi 6 whose music has already been declared a hit, now has the
cast and crew waiting impatiently for the verdict from the critics
and fans.

Former Miss World and Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
married to Abhishek Bachchan at the peak of her career. After
marriage, Ash hinted that as far as possible she will act opposite
Abhi only and to a great extent, her verdict stands right. Ash has
signed ample films opposite hubby Abhi. Presently, the couple is
shooting for Mani Ratnam's Ravana in the deep jungle of Kochi. They
have also signed Ad filmmaker Abhinay Deo's thriller. After shooting
in Kochi, they will head for Greece, Thailand, Istanbul and London
for the untitled thriller. Apart from Ash and Abhi, Boman Irani will
also play an important role.

Next they will be seen together in filmmaker Rajiv Menon's Sur. It
is said that the film will be a remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's
blockbuster Abhimaan. The Bahu and Beta will play the role of Jaya
and Amitabh. The only film that Ash has signed debarred of Abhishek
is Vipul Shah's untitled flick opposite Akshay Kumar where she will
be seen playing mother to a 13 year old kid. With so many above
mentioned films with Abhishek, we could make out that Ash is adamant
to work with Abhishek only.

Before marriage, Ash starred with Abhishek in films like Kuch Naa
Kaho, Umrao Jaan and Guru.

"I was eager to release my next film Delhi 6 on 26th January like I
had Rang De Basanti but as you know it's not a Friday so we decided
to release it later. Rang De Basanti gave some boost to the Indian
youth and Delhi 6 is also similar to that in a way. The film deals
with Indians who are not staying here but when once they come here
they get attached to this country," says the director.

Mehra has been working on Delhi 6 for quite a few years now and he
says it is one of his most cherished but also troublesome projects
of his life.

"I actually wanted to make this film before Rang De Basanti but
because I couldn't find the correct cast it didn't happen," he
says, "This concept was in my mind before RDB but I was not getting
my Bittu (female lead) of the film. Abhishek was in my mind for
Roshan Mehra's character. He was my first and last choice and we had
talked about this film almost 6 years back. When I was searching for
Bittu one of my friends suggested Sonam's same. Sonam was shooting
for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film at that time. We decided to meet
and that lasted for almost 6 hours! By the end of it I realized that
she was already so into the character… and I knew at last I had
found my Bittu.

It is rumoured that the film is a biopic based on his life. Is that
true?

"I was born and brought up in Delhi. I lived my childhood in those
gallis of Delhi. It's my city and I always wanted to do something
for it. So I made this film for her. In fact there is a song in the
film on Delhi which I think will rock the nation! And all the credit
for it should go to Prasoon and Rahman as they are the souls of my
film," he says.

Recently Rahman won a Golden Globe Award and now with his nomination
for an Oscar, we asked Rakeysh to tell us about his interaction with
the musical genius.

"What can I comment on Rahman? He has changed the face of Indian
music. He brought his own individuality in Indian music. Because of
him my films also looks contemporary and he truly is the soul of my
film. I think when he started his career he successfully broke the
north-south divide that existed in India. And now he is breaking the
East-West divide of world. All in all I guess he is an Indian
treasure and we should preserve him!" says Mehra with pride.

And what about Sonam and Abhishek?

It was a pleasure working with Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor.
Both are like my kids. Everybody knows that Sonam started her career
with Ranbir. She is humble, soft spoken and adorable though I don't
have many scenes with her. Abhishek is a very fine actor…and I won't
explain why because for that the audiences should watch the film.

After Luck by Chance, you've got Delhi 6. What can you tell us about
your character in that movie?

My character is of a rich man from Chandni Chowk. I help Abhishek in

Abhishek Bachchan's forthcoming film is `Delhi 6' in which he is

said that Abhishek Bachchan's acting in the film `Delhi 6' has
influenced Rishi Kapoor a lot. Abhishek Bachchan impressed me a lot
in `Delhi 6': Rishi Kapoor

Rishi Kapoor said, "Abhishek Bachchan is a very talented actor. His
height is six foot two inches and taller than his father. He has
great acting skills and works very hard. He is very supportive and
gives 100% dedication."

It is learnt that one scene with Abhishek Bachchan in the

that role Rishi Kapoor stated, "That scene is necessary for the
film. I am striving to tell Abhishek that don't go behind your girl

What do you expect when AR Rahman is just back from winning the
Golden Globe for his outstanding soundtrack of 'Slumdog
Millionaire'? What do expect when three giant honchos, Rakeysh
Omprakash Mehra, Prasoon Joshi and Rahman collide? You expect
nothing less than extraordinary entertainment. And does the album
of 'DELHI 6' deliver? The answer is a resounding YES!!!

2009 has begun with a bang in terms of soundtracks, with 'DELHI 6'
featuring a sublime collection of ear candy tailor made for you.
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and A.R Rahman have rekindled the magic
of 'Rang de basanti' in a huge way. Forget 'Jodha Akbar', 'Yuvvraaj'
and 'Ghajini', 'DELHI 6' owns them all bigtime.

The album literally explodes in your face with the
radiant 'Masakali', a song that brings back memories of the clarinet
in 'Swades'. Its sheer subdued nature and Mohit Chauhan's vocals
simply win your heart.

Just when you expect a teenage club track, along comes the mind
blowing 'Bhor Gaye', a classical track based on a raaga. You can't
help but lose yourself in the mesmerizing vocals by Ustad Bade
Ghulam Ali Khan and Shreya Ghoshal. Goshal particularly impresses
and proves her chameleon-like talent.

After Amitabh Bachchan's deep voice booms in 'Noor', 'Tumre Bhavan
Mein', a jaw dropping brilliantly composed aarti brings out the
goosebumps. A rhythmic electronic groan shimmering in the background
will shuttle and immerse you in a quiet meditative place in your
head. This track will play splendidly against a montage of Delhi,
but lets see what the director does with it.

'Genda phool' opens with birds chirping and beautifully transforms
into a folk song, then poetically slips into western electronic
beats. Rekha Bharadwaj, Shrradha Pandit, Sujata Majumdar and V.N.
Mahathi provide some interesting vocals to a clever composition by
Rajat Dholakia.

Fantastic vocals from Ash King, a relatively new singer in Bollywood
croon, a haunting, romantic guitar kicks into play, and 'Dil gira
daftan' forms like a cloud of paint when the brush is dipped in
water. A slight hint of 'Riverdance' ups the tempo charmingly, and
the track smoothens into the best of the album. The lyrics by
Prasoon Joshi are incredible and backing vocals by Chinmayee add a
nice touch.

'Hey Kala Bandar' features an amalgamation of african-esque folk
song vocals, hip hop beats, rap lyrics and the 'naagin' tune. The
lyrics are questionable, but hilarious. Sample this: "it wasn't me I
swear, everyone is looking for the monkey out there". Forget the
lyrics and this track will soon have you shaking your booty with its
club appeal.

'Rehna Tu' follows with a lounge like feel to it, and seems like a
nice accompaniment to the jazz version of 'Jaane tu'. You can sing
this one to your girlfriend, or you can play it for her, or even
mention it to her, and she'd me mighty happy. Icky sweet lyrics,
faint electronic guitar and Rahman's trademark soulful melancholy -
perfect!

'Delhi 6', the title track is a refurbished 'Aye Bachchu' from
Ghajini, and it's not necessarily a bad thing. Destined to make you
nod your head when no one is looking, this track will probably play
when the film opens. Its got attitude, its got panache, youthful
vocals and rock based guitar. Its everything that you'd want as the
title track of a movie. Vocalists Blaaze, Benny, Viviane, Tanvi and
Claire deserve full credit for this cool number.

'Arziyan' has a wonderful sufi feel to it, the harmonium and tabla
suck you in the mood and Javed Ali and Kailash Kher invite you to
sing with them.

There you are then, 'DILLI 6' is a sparkling album that satisfies
the most diverse of listeners. This film might just be as good
as 'Rang de basanti', in any case the music is almost as good. Buy
it without further ado. In case I hadn't mentioned before, you won't
forget the guitar in 'Dil gira daftan' in a hurry.

It was a first in the history of Indian cinema. The Nokia 15th
Annual Star Screen Award for the Best Couple went to two men, who
played a gay couple (albeit fake) in `Dostana'.

John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan won the golden statuette from
under the noses of Aamir Khan and Asin, Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik
Roshan, Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar, and Kaif and Salman Khan.
Interestingly, the award was handed out by the other halves of the
two men — actors Rai and Bipasha Basu, who giggled like schoolgirls
over their men being called a "couple", insisting they "don't mind
at all".

"It is an unexpected award to get, and it feels a bit strange. But I
am glad to be here to receive the award, and I do miss Abhishek,
especially his chest hair," joked Abraham, stroking host Sajid
Khan's shaved chest, inciting hoots of laughter.

Amid ribald jokes made by hosts Khan and Shreyas Talpade, much of
the evening was painted pink. The two hosts vied for Abraham's
attention, Khan even sporting the famous yellow trunks for a bit,
and they even made a few presentations dressed in drag. And, yes, it
could've been cheesy but it actually was a lot of fun.

`Rang De Basanti' the director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is all set to
come with his film `Delhi 6' in which Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam
Kapoor are playing the lead roles in the film. The title name of the
movie is inspired from the pin code of an area `Old Delhi' in Delhi.

The story sees Roshan (Abhishek Bachchan) who brings his ailing
grandmother back to India. She wants to die in her own country and
so prepares for the inevitable. An America-born Roshan does not know
about food, culture, sounds, religion and beliefs that make up
Indian society.

When Roshan comes to India, he engages with his grandmother's
neighbourhood and becomes the part of the community. But Roshan does
not know that these people have decided to take advantage of
Roshan's candid nature.

The story is shown against the backdrop of the ancient city of Delhi
which is completely different from New Delhi. The city is almost a
character in itself, representing the chaos of India, the people,
their religions and their beliefs. The movie may be one of the
biggest movies of 2009.

The music of the film has been composed by none other than A.R.
Rahman and lyrics have been penned by Prasoon Joshi. Sonu Nigam,
Mohit Chauhan and Sukhwinder Singh have sung the songs.

You saw Anil Kapoor and A.R.Rahman at the Golden Globe Awards and
you couldn't stop cheering them on. You also put your hands together
for SRK and KJo while they walked the red carpet at the Golden
Globes. Now please give a standing ovation for the Big Daddy of
Indian cinema, Mr Amitabh Bachchan. Why? Read on.

Le Salon du Cinema (Cinema Fair) in Paris is paying tribute to
Indian Cinema for their new edition today, 15th January 2009, with
Mr Amitabh Bachchan being the guest of honour joined by his wife
Jaya Bachchan, son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter in law Aishwarya
Rai Bachchan, are organizing a White Night of his films. What's
interesting is that apart from films like Ramesh Sippy's Sholay and
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black being screened, Salon du Cinema
discussed the choices with Mr. Bachchan and he personally wished to
present Sarkar and Sarkar Raj to the French audience too. The films
will be screened at the Fair, in Paris for about 400 viewers
(professionals, distributors and local audience) on a first-come-
first basis.

Bollywood Hungama also learnt that the Salon du Cinema could have
chosen Indian films already distributed in France but Sarkar and
Sarkar Raj for them form a part of Mr. Bachchan's best work in the
recent past and believe that the films can easily reach the European
audiences. 15th evening will see a lavish opening ceremony
celebrating Amitabh Bachchan's work. On the 16th January, prominent
speakers such as Pan Nalin and Shubho Shekhar talk about Indian
Cinema today and co production between India and France, and on the
same day at about 8.15pm Paris time, Sarkar Raj will be presented to
the world audience with Mr Amitabh Bachchan gracing the occasion
followed by a dinner with the organizers team.

We tried to get in touch with the director of Sarkar and Sarkar Raj,
Mr Ram Gopal Varma but he was unavailable for comment. What we did
get our hands on was a note from Ramu on Sarkar which reads:

The God Father is a film which has influenced me a lot. I have lived
with that story for 25 years ever since I've read the book. The film
struck a strong resonance across the worldwide audience because
people like Sarkar exist in every country on the map. They could be
political leaders, underworld dons, dictators or kings...all of them
have the same story. The Sarkar movies are about framing and
showcasing the aura of power. Each and every aspect of filmmaking be
it music or screenplay or cinematography were employed for one and
only purpose that is to capture the intensity in the actor's eyes,
through which we see a world of high drama be it politics,
treachery, revenge, passion, courage, love or relationships.

We do feel that it would've been good to see all the three top
directors, Mr Ram Gopal Varma, Mr Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Mr
Ramesh Sippy along side the Bachchan's at the Salon du Cinema
celebrating what is and will be considered to be Big B's top three
performances of his acting career. Nevertheless, it is a big
achievement for the Indian cinema.

Mani Ratnam's much hyped and talked about Ravan is being keenly
awaited not only by cinema goers, but also by the film industry.

Star couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai play the lead roles.
While Aishwarya is playing Sita, Abhishek's role has been a matter
of speculation. Earlier, there were reports of Abhishek playing the
role of Ram. Latest reports, however, suggest Abhishek is playing
Ravan instead.

Ravan is a project shrouded in secrecy with Mani Ratnam giving
strict instructions to his cast and crew not to leak out any details
of the story or characters.

Abhishek's preparations for the role, however, is definitely not a
secret. He has trimmed his hair and shed weight, a consequence of
strict diet regime he has been following.

Mani Ratnam has managed to assemble a highly interesting cast for
Ravan with Tamil superstar Vikram in the role of Ram, Nikhil Dwivedi
essaying the role of Laxman and Govinda being cast as Hanuman.
Bhojpuri superstar Ravi Kishen will play the role of Vibhishan.

Reports also suggest the film may not be entirely based on the epic
Ramayana and that is why Mani Ratnam is so keen to keep details of
the story such a secret.

After basking in the success of eRang De Basantif, Rakeysh Omprakash
Mehra vanished from the scene for two complete years. Now, he is
back in action, this time with a black comedy - eDelhi 6Œ. The movie
has been produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, along with Ronnie
Screwvala, and will be released under the banner eUTV Motion
Picturesf. A. R. Rahman is the music director, with Prasoon Joshi
providing words to his tunes. eDelhi 6Πis scheduled to hit the
theaters across Indian on 20th February 2009.

The star cast of eDelhi 6Πboasts of names like Abhishek Bachchan,
Rishi Kapoor, Atul Kulkarni, Divya Dutta, Sonam Kapoor, Om Puri,
Pavan Malhotra and Supriya Pathak. The movie is based on the age-old
trait of hypocrisy, which makes people judge others quickly, without
looking at their own inner self, their weaknesses even once. In this
world, where actions and words follow two entirely different
concepts, people often end up taking advantage of each otherfs
naivety. eDelhi 6Πtries to explore all this and more!

The movie revolves around the life of Roshan (Abhishek Bachchan), a
young American guy, who is of Indian origin. However, he has never
ever been to India and neither is he aware of its myriad facets. He
has an ailing grandmother, who wants to take her last breath in her
own country. So, Roshan leaves on a quick trip to India, to drop off
his grandmother. Little does he know that it is going to be one of
the longest journeys of his life - a journey within! As Roshan lands
in India, he starts taking in its sights and sounds, its food and
culture, its religion and beliefs.

As he settles his grandmother in her home, he interacts with her
neighbors, mixes with them and becomes a part of the community.
However, he is unaware of the fact that the people, who seem so
jovial and full of life, have a wicked side as well, which plans to
take advantage of his naive nature. The ancient walled city of Delhi
serves as the backdrop of all this drama. It is representative of
the capital city of India, its chaos, people, religions and myriad
beliefs. With the pincode of the old city being 110006, its
residents proudly call it Delhi 6.

Contrary to reports, Mani Ratnam's much hyped film "Ravana", starring
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, is not based on the
epic "Ramayana", said a source.

The film has nothing to do with the epic `Ramayana`. It's an urban
story," the source added.
Ratnam has tried to keep the story under wraps and is taking
precautions while shooting. First he shot the film in the jungles of
Kerala and now he is shooting in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.

Mean while reports are on that Abhishek Bachchan has been picturised
in a song and dance number that also features 500 dancers.

Mani Ratnam is doing the shooting of the song `Kata Kata Mara Mara'
with Abhishek Bachchan and Ravi Kishen in Jhansi. The choreographer
Ganesh Acharya has given training to 500 dancers who will perform in
the song.

Abhinay Deo whose forthcoming movie Delhi Belly with Aamir Khan is
yet to be completed has signed Bollywood power couple Aishwarya Rai
and Abhishek Bachchan for an untitled project. The movie will be
produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar.

"Yes it is true and we have signed them for the film. We have also
signed Boman Irani to play one of the key roles; the rest of the
casting is under process," Sidhwani was reported as saying. The fast-
paced thriller is said to give the Bachchans a much-needed image
makeover.

Farhan, who had an impressive screen debut earlier in Rock On, will
not be seen in the movie. The film will be shot in exotic locales
such as Greece, Thailand and Istanbul. Shooting will commence in
June.

This will be Abhishek and Aishwarya's sixth film together. Their
earlier movies were Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (2000), Kuch Naa Kaho
(2003), Umrao Jaan (2006), Dhoom 2 (2006) Sarkar Raj (2007).
