Bachchans to walk again to Siddhivinayak
By: Nishant A Bhuse
December 1, 2005

It's only a matter of time, but Abhishek, Jaya and Amitabh
Bachchan's staff will once again be walking to the Siddhivinayak
temple at Prabhadevi.

Yesterday, just as Abhishek returned home to Jalsa after a vigil at
Lilavati Hospital, where his father is being treated, a servant told
him, "Saheb theek ho jayenge toh hum sab Siddhivinayak jayenge."
Abhishek turned around and said, "Tum log hi kyon? Hum sab saath
mein jayenge."

It may be recalled that Bachchan, Jaya and Abhishek walked bare feet
from their Juhu home to Siddhivinayak on June 28 this year, to seek
the Lord's blessings. The Bachchans started the journey at 1.45 am
and covered the 10-km stretch in two hours, without a single halt.

According to Siddhivinayak officials, a special aarti for the ailing
star was held on Tuesday.

"Some of his close friends met us and requested that we perform an
aarti," said one of the temple trustees, requesting anonymity. The
temple officials then sent special prasad for the Big B to Lilavati
on Tuesday evening.

Doctors attending to Bachchan said the operation for infection,
inflammation and perforation in the small and large intestines went
on for two hours between 6.30 and 8.30 pm yesterday.

A team of four surgeons were present during the operation. "He will
be here for 10 days," said a doctor. Meanwhile, late last night only
Jaya remained with him at the hospital as his friends and family
went home to rest.

In a cramped room in Manhattan, Abhishek Bachchan greets a reporter for an Indian newspaper. "I'm Abhishek," he says, offering a firm handshake. He seems shy, and terribly reserved as the interview starts. But a few moments later, he starts talking enthusiastically about his films and friends and life in the movie industry.
He has taken a few hours off from the hectic shooting for Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna to promote his new film, Bluffmaster, directed by Rohan Sippy -- his friend from his school days. This is the second time the two are working together following the also-ran Kuch Naa Kaho two years ago.
Bluffmaster is important to Abhishek for more than one reason. It is a film where he won't have an Amitabh or John Abraham (as in Dhoom) acting alongside.
"After a string of hits like Dhoom, Bunty Aur Babli and Sarkar, the expectations from Abhishek are riding very high," says Sippy.
As Abhishek speaks you notice how eager he is to praise the other artists in Bluffmaster including Ritesh Deshmukh, Boman Irani, Nana Patekar and Priyanka Chopra. When he is with a cast of wonderful actors, Abhishek says giving a good performance becomes a natural process.
He spoke exclusively to Arthur J Pais.

Though you have been acting only for about six years, you have seen this industry from your childhood. What do you find most exciting about it now?
I think it's a fantastic time to be in the movie industry in India. It is growing by leaps and bounds. The audiences are willing to accept all kinds of films. On the one hand, they like a film like Black with no songs, which is two hours long and with much of its dialogue in English. On the other hand, they accept a film like Bunty Aur Babli, a very kitschy film, like the kind of films good directors used to make in the 1970s.

Both the films had your father, and you played the lead in one of them.
Yes (chuckles). But they would have become hits if they had some other good actors, too.

The growth of multiplexes may have to do with offbeat films slowly drawing the audiences, don't you think?
Certainly. But surely the audiences are supporting well-made films in a big way. This wasn't the scene about 20 years ago.

What are other recent films whose success has surprised you?
Salaam Namaste is one. It has a story that many might have considered irrelevant in our society -- two people living together and having a child out of wedlock. It is wonderful and very encouraging for the film industry that audiences are willing to patronise these films. With that encouragement, an actor gets the opportunity to perform different roles.

You are playing a PR man in Kabhi Alvida, an Indian who has grown up in New York. Do you have an accent in the film, and did you model the role after anyone in the public relations business?
Not at all. I had excellent guidance from Karan Johar. This is a drama of family dynamics and it has a powerful story. It was more important to me to be truthful to this character than worry about such things about accent. I also have discovered over the years that many well placed Indians here or in Britain are more Indian in their hearts than many of us.

Have you had that opportunity to do three or four movies in a row with some directors?
I have not been around that long to do that many movies. But I have been repeated by many directors. I'm just about to start my third film with J P Dutta. Ramu (Ram Gopal Varma) has cast me in two films. And this (Bluffmaster) is my second film with Rohan.

What is it like working with Rohan Sippy?
He can make very contemporary films without in-your-face kind of melodrama. And he maintains his cool even if the world is falling apart around all of us. He likes working with writers who create strong characters and intriguing situations. I liked my character. It has quite a bit of intrigue in it. I enjoyed his (the character's) composure.
I liked the fact that Roy Kapoor (his character in Bluffmaster)has the gift of the gab. He could talk himself out of any situation. It was fun trait to have and play.

How would you describe Bluffmaster?
I would call the film a comedy. It's a light-hearted film; keeps you on the edge of your seat; full of surprises. It's more relaxed; it offers a new sensibility to Indian cinema.

You have been in New York for several weeks working on Karan Johar's film. How much of New York have you seen on this visit?
Quite a bit. In between the shooting schedule.

Have you taken the subway?
Oh yeah. When I was in college I did that over here.

Can you do it now?
I think I can.
I love walking on the streets of New York. I think it's one of the greatest cities on earth. I like to get away from my security (men) and walk to Central Park or go to a roadside café. It's something I don't get to do in India. We have been very busy so far and yet I have made some time to walk around. But there is much more to do. I really want to see some shows on Broadway; catch a few movies, if possible. My entire family is here. My dad is here; we're shooting the same film. We managed to get my mother across. So it's good; I get to spend some time with them, too.

Going back to the movies. You seem to be more relaxed in many of your recent films.
Yes, I feel very comfortable, relaxed. That is very important because the camera picks up everything. That comfort comes in after doing an X number of movies. I don't think I'm as intimidated by the camera as I was when I first started off. I used to be intimidated very much and I made plenty of wrong choices by way of signing some films.

What do you find most interesting about acting?
The wonderful thing about this profession is that you learn something new every day. The minute you learn something new, you want to implement it. Once that shot is okayed and it is printed; it goes down in history; there's nothing you can do to change it.

What has been his experience working with his illustrious father?
There is no reaction when you're working with dad. (laughs) You're just stunned, I think. I just freeze in front of him. I don't think I can get rid of it. It will happen to me every time.

What else happens?
(Chuckles more) Eventually I recover. But before that I fumble my lines or forget them.

How secure do you feel in your career now?
I still wake up in the morning and think whether I am going to do my job? Even now, I ask myself if I am in the right profession. But the feeling was far more intense a few years ago.

And that was because…?
When you are going through a phase, when none of your films are working, you do start questioning yourself after a while. Even today, when there are times (when things are not going well) I ask, 'Have I made the right decision? Am I in the right profession?'
Why do you get that doubt?
It is very simple. I may love doing what I do, but the big question is: Am I good at it?

What is the best advice you have got from your father?
After three or four of my films were released, I went to him and asked, 'Do you think I made a mistake?' He did not hesitate even for a moment. He said, 'No I don't think you made a mistake. Just hang in there and keep working.'

One of them has really long hair way pass her butt almost to the back of her knee. A few nights prior to that night, one of the girls were cryin when she met SRK. That night when both Abhi nd SRK were coming back 4rm the gym we met them without security guards.  Abhi makes SRK look extra short. I'm taller than SRK but Abhi makes him look like Ranis or Preitys hight. I saw them too.  Rani signed the BLACK DVD 4 my friend nd she signed a pic of her in the Stardust Annual 2005 mag. Even though she was in a bit of a rush, she was looking at the mag to c if she was on the cover. But only Ash, Mallika S. nd Preity were on the cover.  Preity didn't sign nething yet. Gotta get the SN DVD 4 her to sign. They both look really preety and short.  Rani was actually nice even though she was in a rush to go to her shooting that same night the crazy crowd was outside the hotel.  They bumrushed SRK too when he showed up. His s/g's r such pain in the ass. Well only 1 name Brian. He's tall and white nd racist. Neways, the crowd had left by the time Rani came out thank god. And she's not dark like some ppl claim. Abhi looked surprised and stepped back as this woman and her child ran up to him and his dad to say hi being really loud and crazy.  Then some ppl wer banging on the door of the hotel screamin 4 both father nd son.  It took the hotel staff a while to get them out the hotel. Then when Amitji and Abhi made their way outside the hotel, the crowd got louder and crazier.  Security was called in for corwd-control.  But that didn't help.  I was standing at the side looking at all that madness.  The older ppl were gungho 4 Big B and the younger ppl made things difficult 4 Abhi to say a propper goodbye to his dad. If the car that was taking Big B to the airport wasn't there, the crowd would've been on the street. But even with all that crazyness, when  the Big B got into the car and drove away, Abhi, still surrounded by the crowd, signed some autographs.  I had to fight my way through the crowd to get my DVD of DUS signed.  I wanna go back to the hotel to get a pic with him side by side.  He is soooooooooo HOTT (even in a white T and blue jeans) and TALL and SEXY as hell in person; it's beyond my expectations. He's only like 3 or 4 inches taller than I am though. Neways, do u know where they'll be shooting this weekend? Plz let me know. Toodles.

Abhishek Bachchan debuts as a singer with Right Here Right Now
This year we need a new category at the award functions. A category for the best shot music video for promoting a film! At least after watching the superlative work in the 'Right Here Right Now' music video shot especially for promoting the film Bluffmaster you certainly feel that there is a vacuum at the award functions to admire such exceptional work coming out from the industry.

Did you ask what makes the 'Right Here Right Now' music video exceptional? Well there are reasons more than one.
- Firstly the music by Vishal-Shekhar (who are growing popular by every passing day) is soft on ears but at the same time peppy and catchy.
- Add to it Abhishek Bachchan who gets behind the microphone and exercises his vocal chords for this track.
- And finally the picturization of the video that in one word can be described as 'classy'.

Ok even here we have the lead character, Abhishek Bachchan dancing with four sensuous bikini babes in the background. But here the background babes are not just extras but established models - Carol Gracias, Pia Trivedi, Scherzade Shroff and Anchal Kumar. And the way in which the girls are captured on lens makes all the difference. Never does the scene get vulgar. 'Sexy' would be an understatement. Priyanka Chopra like always looks desirable and adds to the sensuality of the video.
Riteish Deshmukh who plays Abhishek's protégé in the film appears with a funky hairdo, all gelled and straightened up. Director Rohan Sippy also makes an appearance in the video with his new look of extended moustache (or should we call it a trimmed beard… we'll just say Kuch Na Kaho). Musician duo Vishal and Shekhar have their cameos too. Abhishek has his stubble on, that undoubtedly adds to his appeal and imparts intensity and shrewdness to his character

The music never bangs on your head but still seeps in your senses. Abhishek's attempt at singing is not all that bad since the musicians have tried to make him speak out his lines rather than making him sing to some complex tune. Sunidhi Chauhan is reliable like always. The hip-hop number is primarily in Hindi with a bit of English flowing in between, as is the trend today.

But the best part about the video is yet to come. It's the fascinating set-designs and the mesmerizing shot-takings that make this video unique and distinctive. Everything in the look of the video, from the costumes to the make-up to the accessories and the art, has been meticulously worked out. Every frame of the visual has a vibrant and at the same time youthful feel to it. When the frame switches to white décor your heart might just skip a beat. The slow motion shots are well executed. Choreographer Farah Khan gives some simple swaying movements to Abhishek that he executes gracefully. It doesn't make him conscious nor does he have to put that extra effort.

Abhishek undoubtedly is the scene-stealer of the video. From a jeans t-shirt to snow-white formals to a heavily embroidered sherwani attire, he switches in each garb with remarkable élan. Priyanka forms the perfect icing on the cake. Take Riteish as the cherry.

Don't miss this one.

Sex in the name of art?

Shubha Shetty-Saha
Friday, November 25, 2005  18:41 IST
It’s the intimate scenes between Abhishek Bachchan and Soha Ali Khan in Rituparna Ghosh’s ‘Antar Mahal’ that has irked many people. Mrs Kumkum Som, a housewife, felt cheated after watching the movie. Her reason, “Sex is crudely presented without any pleasantness. I don’t understand what Mr Ghosh is trying to portray, the entire performance is like a jatra…a melodramatic village play!”
Additionally, Tunali M posted this reaction on IMDB.com: “I felt very queasy after the movie. It is a little hard to swallow a film as graphic as this. The Goddess sculpting scene is very offensive. More than the sex scenes, it is the circumstances faced by the protagonists, whether it’s a woman forced to sleep with five priests or have sex with her husband in front of one that I found it a little too much to take in.”
Playback singer Abhijeet is hopping mad too. “I do not want to watch ‘Antar Mahal’. I think everyone should ban it. I heard Rituparno has used the statue of Durga Ma (whom I ardently worship) in a strange manner. How dare he do that?”
Not so long ago, another serious filmmaker, Pradeep Sarkar, had experimented with a few intimate scenes in his film ‘Parineeta’. That was accepted well, though. Sarkar says, “I haven’t watched ‘Antar Mahal’, so I cannot comment on it. But as for my film, we did not use those scenes to market the film. The two intimate scenes were only there to convey the mood. Also, the novel on which the film was adapted had those scenes.”
Bengali actor Rituparna Dasgupta supports Rituda. She says, “I haven’t watched the film. But I know Rituparno Ghosh is a sensible filmmaker and he will not do anything unnecessary in his film.”
The two lead actors have already come out in support of their director. In earlier interviews, Abhishek Bachchan has said, “Ritu is a sensitive director and the intimate scenes have been done aesthetically,” while Soha Ali Khan has also insisted that there’s no hint of obscenity in the scenes.
Ghosh, however, was unavailable for comment. But has already defended the scenes in the media by saying, “My film is about sexual repression. Hence, sex is an integral part of the theme. My film is definitely erotic but not sexy in the cheesy and cheap connotations of the term. This is the land of the Khajuraho and let’s not shy away from frank depiction of sexuality on screen.”

Abhishek Bachchan in 'Bluff Master'
Unarguably, the UTV-distributed 'Bluff Master' (on December 16) is an eagerly awaited film, considering hotties Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra feature in it together for the first time. The rest of the cast comprising Nana Patekar and Riteish Deshmukh is also interesting.

According to sources, the audio sales of the unconventional movie soundtrack have seen a marked rise from the day the soundtrack was officially released. The videos of 'Sabse Bada Rupaiya' and 'Say Na Say Na' are already on air. The song rendered by Abhishek himself will feature in the film's closing credits.

Kachoris may have caused stomach pains
   By: Nishant A Bhuse

Amitabh Bachchan
Four Lucknowi kachoris, that Amitabh Bachchan had munched, during an event in Lucknow, may have caused the stomach infection, believes a source close to the actor.

Bachchan was to release a documentary by poet-writer Ashok Chakradhar on the life of his father, the late poet Harivanshrai Bachchan, when he was served the mouth-watering kachoris.

Bachchan, who rarely eats food cooked outside, could not resist the temptation and dug into them.

“As the kachoris were pungent and very spicy, these could have caused the infection. Bachchansaab is known to have cholesterol-controlled hygienic food, especially cooked for him,” said the source.

However, Dr Narendra Trivedi, spokesperson, Lilavati Hospital, refused to confirm what had triggered the infection.

“Will you let us move from here? Kya aapko samajh mein nahin aata, hat jao yahaan se!” screamed an angry Abhishek to the lensmen and media who thronged the entry and exit of Lilavati Hospital last night.

Bachchan Jr has refused to speak to the media and is believed to have even warned hospital authorities not to disclose any information about his father’s condition.

“Please leave us alone, I don’t want to comment on anything,” added Abhishek, when mobbed by reporters. When contacted over the phone, reporters were met with a curt, “I am busy at the moment. Please call up later.”

A producer and director, close to the Bachchans told Mid Day, “The family was slightly tense and with the huge media presence, even the Big B got scared. He decided not to open his eyes and face the flashbulbs, until he was safely in his room.”

Abhishek's no show
IANS [Monday, November 28, 2005]

The prolific Rituparno Ghosh is busy elsewhere, so he won't be putting in an appearance during Sunday's screening of his film "Antarmahal" in Goa.
But three of the film's principal actors, Jackie Shroff, Soha Ali Khan and Roopa Ganguly, will be at the INOX multiplex.
But where, pray, is Abhishek Bachchan, who plays a small but pivotal role in Antarmahal? He will be conspicuous by his absence at the presentation ceremony that will precede the show.
Not surprising at all. If the Big B weren't welcome at IFFI, why would the Chhota B deem to play ball?

Abhishek Bachchan sings!

By Correspondent, Bollywood Trade News Network
Abhishek BachchanOn December 1st television for the first time will air the video featuring Abhishek Bachchan. The song ‘Right Here Right Now’ is created by Vishal-Shekhar, directed by ace director/choreographer Farah Khan for Rohan Sippy's BLUFFMASTER! The vocals for the song are by Abhishek Bachchan himself and mark his debut as a singer as well.

Says Abhishek on the experience of turning singer, 'it was a terrifying experience. It all started with a joke with me proposing to sing the song. Rohan caught my bluff and insisted that I actually sing it. Vishal and Shekhar have done a fantastic job and made it a great track. So I cannot take any credit if it sounds good.

Abhishek had made Farah hear the song while shooting in New York. Farah Khan who loved the song, offered to direct the video for the song. They shot non-stop and finished the video in two days.

The song is picturised on Abhishek and four hot models - Carol Gracias, Pia Trivedi, Scherzade Shroff and Anchal Kumar. Farah also made Priyanka Chopra, Retiesh, Boman Irani and Vishal Shekhar also sashay to the tunes. The track has already turned out to be hot stepper with number 2 position on all charts and is showing no signs of slowing down. Rohan plans to use the song in the end credits of the film.

Send
Bluffmaster Ecards On directing AB Jr on his music video Vishal and Shekhar say that Abhishek is a rock star and the project was like one big party.

Rohan Sippy's second film BLUFFMASTER! can be termed as an edgy, modern bolly classic. Whether it's the script, characterization or even music the entire film has a very contemporary feel to it. And is a complete entertaining with reverting twists and tale. The film is produced by Ramesh Sippy's R S Entertainment.

Innocent Abhishek fans, beware,,,, coz love is blind, there would be people to take advantage. Since all of you guys are such pure Abhi fans who love abhi so much, I am sure there will be an opportunity to meet him.

Lets try to do something ourselves. Maybe e.g. we can orgnaize an event and invite him, or lets form a Forum and get some publicity to it, etc. And which celebrity will refuse to come to such events. After all, celebrities are also humans. But lets not rely on someone joining advt with him, or similar such contacts to talk about this group, etc.

I may be wrong, but I felt bad thinking that just in case, these are stupid games by people like Gokul to have some fun at the cost of you pure Abhi fans.

Great job guys, its such a pleasure to be part of such a group and I have been enjoying all the success news sent about Abhi by all of you. (Pls note: Although I admired Abhishek from the very beginning, I guess I got joined in this group accidentally. But i didnt cancel as I really liked the way you guys love Abhi and he's my favourite actor and favorite human being too!!!)

Take care all.

Thanks,

You're right!Abhishek is no more in London now! He's in Mumbai & he'll be there for a week or so!Till then our shootings are post-poned!Just 2 days back we entered the London city,as KANK story states so that Dad & son come to London from US!They're there to shoot a item number!Later,15% of the movie will be shot in India! But,only after Amithji gets well!till then the shoots are postponed!Tum bilkul fikhar math karo hum hain na!Agar koi dikhawa karneka koshish bhi kiya to unpe serious action lena padega! And pls for god sake don't keep fooling ppl around saying "Hi frens this is abhishek"! If you do that it means you're annoyin' him & it declares that you're not fit to be a fan of Abhishek!See you guys later!Bye

I just got another thought in my mind.

Why not we band together with Other Abhishek forums on the Internet?

This way, our numbers will increase majorly. And there is strength
and clout in numbers. When we all have the same intentions and
goals, why not just merge together and come under one banner???

Wouldn't it be lovely for everyone to come together??? The one and
only group for Abhishek. Wow.

Makes huge sense to me.

Neetu, Varsha...others, is it possible? Or am I missing something..

Hi Neetu and other members,

Thanks. Shall try and take part in as many polls as possible.

I have one more idea - should we maintain a database of cities where all people in this group is located and lets see if we can do something with this. (I was tempted to suggest maintaining a contact list having name, address and phone number, but considering recent "probable" hackers/"bluffmasters" :) experience in the team, I thought it may be risky.)

But having the city database could be a good start and then lets think about some events, etc. What do you all say?

Thanks,
Sreevidya.

parties involved. We all want to meet Abhi so badly. Since fans seem
to be spread out all over, having Abhishek here on this forum will
be the the best thing ever in my opinion. I hope that day comes

Any other ideas? Let's keep thinking of more..

Family ‘seizes’ his loved laptop, cell

Indranil Roy
Wednesday, November 30, 2005  00:47 IST

The first thing that Amitabh Bachchan's family has done is to confiscate the mobile phone and the laptop that he always kept by his side. In the morning today, he had got some rest but since his abdominal area was still paining, doctors had been monitoring his condition.
Star gazers and mediapersons by the hundreds besieged the Lilavati complex while the Bachchan family received a never-ending stream of VIP guests at the 11th floor of the Bandra hospital.
TV crews collared every film personality for a byte, right from director Shaad Ali and actresses Kirron Kher and Gul Panang. Yesterday, Sanjay Dutt had been one of the first actors to reach the hospital to inquire about Amitabh Bachchan's condition.
The Bachchan family - wife Jaya, son Abhishek and daughter Shweta - received visitors throughout the day. The supestar was not allowed to be disturbed as far as possible.
The domestic staff, some of whom have been with the Bachchan household for over two decades, were waiting outside the hospital. Offering tea and biscuits to reporters, they asked the paparazzi to give the patient a break.
One of them lamented that it took nearly 10 minutes to move Amitabh Bachchan from the ambulance to the hospital gate, as they were mobbed by the media and banged on the bonnets of the car carrying members of the Bachchan family and close friends Amar Singh, Anil and Tina Ambani.
Hospital sources said some photographers had been trying to take pictures from nearby buildings with tele-photo lens.
Bachchan's release might take a week with pending medical tests and further treatment.

Ek Ajnabee

G S Entertainment's EK AJNABEE starring Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role is all complete and becoming a subject of massive publicity campaign, with GS making sure that no stone will be left unturned in promoting the movie. The movie is slated for a 9th December release worldwide. Having met success in the past with PYAR KIYA TO DARNA KYA, HELLO BROTHER and MAINE DIL TUJHKO DIYA, GS now kicks off their latest venture EK AJNABEE directed by Apoorva Lakhia who made his directorial debut with MUMBAI SE AAYA MERA DOST starring Abhishek Bachchan and Lara Dutta. Apoorva Lakhia has earlier assisted in Hollywood movies like A PERFECT MURDER, ADDICTED TO LOVE, ICE STORM, KAMASUTRA and also on India's Oscar entry LAGAAN. EK AJNABEE would be Lakhia's most ambitious project till date. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan along with Arjun Rampal, the lovely Perizaad Zorabian and Raj Zutshi. This would also be a nail-biter of a movie for Arjun Rampal as he is still awaiting a major hit to his credit. The film also stars a host of other talented actors like Daya Shankar Pandey, Akhilendra Mishra, Kelly Dorji, Vikram Chatwal and Thai actor Yuth.

The film is about a man facing his demons, a man who has lost all interest in life until by a sudden chance he meets an 8-year-old girl, who he is hired to protect. Thereon we see the changes in that man, we see how the little girl fills his life with laughter bringing a new meaning to his life until the time they are separated by unusual circumstances.

Amitabh Bachchan is Suryaveer Singh. Embittered and disillusioned, Suryaveer has done it all, seen it all. Nothing can change him except the welcoming numbness of alcohol. But then the impish smile and incessant chatter of the young girl mellows him. Even as he is learning to smile, kidnappers snatch her away and his life changes yet again. Arjun Rampal is Shekhar. He and Suryaveer were officers in army together. Now Shekhar has made Bangkok his home. When industrialist Ravi needed a bodyguard for his daughter it is Shekhar who gets Suryaveer the job. Shekhar will be with Suryaveer every step of the way. Baby Rucha is Anamika. A spoilt child of wealthy parents but still not a brat. She is girl with a naughty smile and a non-stop chatter which can humanize anybody including the insensitive man she calls Surya.

The story moves on through an emotional rollercoaster between its characters that are all caught between a web of deceit. Though the film is an emotional drama, it boasts of some innovative editing and great action.

The film was shot in a start to finish schedule in Bangkok, Thailand. The action sequences for the film have been choreographed by Thai action director Seng (of ONGBAK fame). The film flaunts some stunning cinematography by Gururaj R J capturing the fast pace and the bustling streets of Bangkok. The music for the film has been tuned by Amar Mohile (who did the haunting background score for Ram Gopal Varma's SARKAR) with the lyrics penned by the talented and experienced Sameer. The script has been written by Manoj Tyagi and Apoorva Lakhia.

EK AJNABEE will be one of the most high profile movies to hit the marquee and should be an absolute delight for all Big B fans as he rambles across the screen unleashing his colossal talent and persona!

"Pa just doesn't listen," Abhishek on Amitabh's recent illness!
by Debasis Jana

Amitabh Bachchan's health is stable, and the megastar himself to put the all speculations about his recent hospitalization on rest told today morning at Mumbai's Leelawati Hospital that he is fine and there's absolutely no cause for alarm.
At the time Amitabh Bachchan is in Leelawati Hospital, and hopefully today itself he will be discharged.
Bachchan said it's a minor ailment, and nothing to worry. However Big B's well-wishers fell he needs to look after himself. They feel he's going way beyond the schedules prescribed for someone his age.
Son Abhishek Bachchan also feels same. "He really needs to slow down," says his son Abhishek. "But Pa just doesn't listen."

What? No bikes in Dhoom 2!
   By: Upala KBR
   November 28, 2005
Can you imagine Dhoom 2 without bikes? We couldn’t, till we heard that the sequel of the film will not have biker action. Well, at least the hot wheels won’t be the main attraction of the film.

The sequel stars Hrithik Roshan, Bipasha Basu, Aishwarya Rai, Uday Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan. John Abraham, the main biker in the original, will not be appearing in Part 2.

Guns or women?

Pritam
We asked director Sanjay Gadhvi about the missing bikes, but he chose to be tight-lipped on the subject, “No comments. You will have to wait and watch,” was his refrain. Uday Chopra, too, sidestepped the question with, “It’s too early to talk about it. I can’t comment about it at the moment.”

An inside source in Yash Raj Films revealed, “The highlight in the film could be any guy thing — from guns to women.” While Gadhvi added mysteriously, “Wait. You just might be surprised.”
Bigger than bikes

However, our story was confirmed by an unlikely source — the film’s music director, Pritam, who has already composed two songs for Dhoom 2. We asked him if he was disappointed that bikes weren’t the main attraction this time.

“No, I am not disappointed. I don’t know the script too well, but I don’t think bikes are the main attraction this time. Dhoom 2 will have something much bigger than bikes. Even in Hollywood films like Speed, they don’t repeat things in the sequel; the format is never the same.

Speed 2 had something different from Speed. Dhoom 2 again has three very macho guys — Abhishek, Hrithik and Uday. So, for Dhoom 2, they will get something more macho and larger-than-life than bikes. In any case, Uday (Ali) and Abhishek’s characters are already established, so if there is no bike, it won’t matter.”

Pritam adds that, “though the energy of Dhoom will be carried into Dhoom2, the music will be different. I like to hear the story and situation before composing the music.”

This year, Pritam’s releases included Chocolate, Garam Masala and Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena.

Apart from Dhoom 2, his forthcoming releases are Sohail Khan’s Fight Club, Vikram Bhatt’s Ankahee, Anuraag Basu’s Gangster and Sachin Bajaj’s next film

Stable Amitabh in Mumbai hospital
IANS  [Tuesday, November 29, 2005]

Mumbai, Nov 29 (IANS) Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan is reported to be stable and has been put under observation at the Lilavati Hospital here Tuesday.

Bachchan was brought from New Delhi late Monday after he complained of abdominal pain.

The 63-year-old actor was admitted to the hospital around 10.30 p.m. Monday and has been undergoing several tests, the reports of which are awaited, hospital authorities said.

"He (Bachchan) is resting and is comfortable. We ran a couple of investigative tests and are awaiting the results," Lilavati Hospital vice president Narendra Trivedi told IANS.

Bachchan, who is recuperating in the executive suite on the 11th floor of the hospital, has wife Jaya Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan with him.

Bachchan was first taken earlier Monday to the Escorts Hospital in New Delhi. He flew to Mumbai in a chartered Reliance Industries plane accompanied by Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh.

Several dignitaries, including business tycoon Anil Ambani and wife Tina Ambani, received him at the airport.

Bachchan was in Lucknow Sunday for a poetry recital programme organised on the occasion of his father and poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan's birth anniversary.

He then left for Dehradun in Uttaranchal where he experienced pain in his abdomen.

One of the most popular actors of the country and BBC's star of the millennium, Bachchan has an unprecedented fan following not just in India but also in several other countries.

Anjali Gupta has designs on men only

   By: Divya Verma

   November 24, 2005
Anjali at her self titled store at Citi Mall
She is a designer from SNDT College and may have worked with the biggies of the industry, Hemant Trivedi and Manish Malhotra, but what makes Anjali Gupta truly stand out from the rest of her colleagues is that she designs clothes only for men.

“I have an aptitude for designing mens wear and I don’t want to be like every other designer who designs clothes especially for women.

There is so much that can be done with mens wear and now that Indian men are willing to experiment, it gives a better opportunity to design smarter clothes for them,” says Anjali, adding, “I am very clear about one thing; I will never design clothes for women. Its mens wear that interests me more.”

Rohan Sippy and Vishal-Shekhar feature in Bluffmaster video
Just some days back we informed you that Abhishek Bachchan is to go behind the microphone and exercise his vocal chords for a song in Bluffmaster. The movie as such doesn’t have any songs but this number will be used as a promotional music video for the film. Says Abhishek on the experience of turning singer, “It was a terrifying experience. It all started with a joke with me proposing to sing the song. Rohan caught my bluff and insisted that I actually sing it. Vishal and Shekhar have done a fantastic job and made it a great track. So I cannot take any credit if it sounds good”.

Abhishek had made ace director/choreographer Farah Khan hear the song while shooting in New York. Farah Khan who loved the song, offered to direct the video for the song. They shot non-stop and finished the video in two days flat.

The excitement in the song doesn’t end there. The song also features others members from the cast of Bluffmaster – Priyanka Chopra and Ritesih Deshmukh. Director Rohan Sippy and musician duo Vishal-Shekhar also make flashing appearances in the video as themselves. Four hot models Carol Gracias, Pia Trivedi, Scherzade Shroff and Anchal Kumar will add sensuality to the video.

The video will be premiered on December 1 on the television. But we promise to show you the entire video before that. Stay tuned.
