Bharat Pensioners Samaj ( BPS)Member SCOVA & Advisory committee of GOI Pensioners Portal : Established in l955 is an all India Federation of Pensioners’ Associations with 400 affiliated Association including 160 Rly. Pensioners Associations having a total membership of over 4 lac Pensioners. It functions as a nodal point for pensioners supported by central and state Governments and quasi-Governmental organizations. It holds periodic seminars and conferences to focus on the problems of Pensioners and other elderly citizens.
Pensioner’s Hand Book is one of its latest publications in addition to its monthly journal “BHARAT PENSIONER” which is published regularly every month without any interruption during its life of more than half a century. BPS has been the Member of SCOVA right from its inception in July, 1986. (Of course, with minor breaks during the current decade on rotational grounds). At present, it is Non-rotating member of SCOVA and is in receipt of recurring Grant-in-aid from GOI Ministry of Personnel PG &Pensions
It is the only Indian Pensioners’ organization, which finds mention in UNFPA publication “SITUATION AND VOICES / THE OLDER POOR AND EXCLUDED IN SOUTH AFRICA AND INDIA” Issue No 2 of 2002. p. 108.Besides, several Sociologists & Anthropologists have given it a reasonable space in their books & papers. It is the only Pensioners’ organization which has introduced PMES {Performance monitoring & evolution System) for its affiliates/office bearers, has adopted persuasive management & has technologically upgraded itself.

1.Dissemination of information including Govt. orders/circulars
2.Discuss & sort out problems faced by Pensioners & Sr. Citizens
3.To promote Pensioners welfare activities
4.To send BPS-RREWA 'News letters' to members
