Positions- HSE Engineer

Job Purpose

The site HSE Engineers will be responsible for providing HSE support to client HSE Manager for assisting with implementation of the contractors’ SMS. The position is based at Construction site in Mumbai

Job Functions:

·         Accountable to provide HSE support and assistance to client HSE manager and Assure implementation and continual improvement of HSE management system.

·         Carry out risk assessment for all critical activities  e.g. heavy lifting operation, work-at-height, confined space entry, road transportation etc.

·         Develop procedure/method statement for safe control of operation for all critical activities e.g.  Work at height, Heavy Lifting excavation, ground disturbance, Forklift operation etc.

·         Conduct pre start-up safety meeting with contractors and its subcontractors

·         Develop induction briefing pack for all personnel

·         Regular inspection & audit of the site  to ensure compliance with safe working practice and safe working condition on housekeeping, safe control of operations, electrical hazard, lifting equipments, cranes, hydra etc.

·         Help to implement of permit to work, control of work procedure

·         Maintain site emergency response plan and conduct emergency drill

·         Maintaining data base on all lost time injuries, medical treatment case, first aid cases, all near miss incidents, all spills and other unplanned discharges; any other event reportable to a statutory authority; summary of all remedial action and its status; summary of monitoring activity, reviews, inspections and audits

·         Conduct monthly HSE meeting with the contractors & its sub contractors

·         Participate as needed on investigations to determine root causes and ensure corrective actions are implemented and follow-up actions documented

·         HSE supervision during the civil construction work- training of workers, safety briefing, PPEs adherence, adherence of safe work practice

·         Ensure implementation of Fitness for task for all contract employees, Confined space, Crane operators, Drivers etc.

Person Specification

Experience:

Degree in Engineering and Diploma in Industrial Safety .
7-10 years of HSE experience in the construction industry

Education / Certifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with Diploma in Industrial Health & Safety certifications.

Languages Needed:
English & Hindi  – Fluent
