Dear Dr. Gautam,
Thanks for the immediate response. It will be a great pleasure to
have you here. Kindly let me know about your schedule to visit
Bareilly so that suitable arrangements can be made for your stay and
for the lectures and meetings as well. In our school we have a
multimedia room which can seat about 70 people. We have an LCD
projector in case you may need. I would highly appreciate if you
please write about how we are to go about the project in brief, so
that I will be sort of mentally prepared for the same.
Our school is located in the cantonment area therefore we have lots
of open area around with lots of wild growth and plenty of
Parthenium where actual demonstration can be given. We have Cassia
tora, Xanthium, Neem and Calotropis growing around which will help
you tell the students to identify the same.
Thanking you and with kind regards,
Yours sincerely,
( Vasundhara Wahal )

Principal Scientist, IARI) can develop a program for you on
Parthenium suppression, where in your team can make use of the
Mexican beetle (Zygogramma bicolorata), which feeds exclusivesly on
this invasive weed. I can come for a week, deliver a lecture and
important literatue, and provide a substntial population of the
beetle for various activities depending on students/groups.These
beetles can be released in nature for their effectiveness and impact
studies. Besides, I would like your student/team to recognise some
of the plants having potential to suppress Parthenium. Although,
such studies require 2-3 months time we will plan in such a way that
students are able to prepare their projects in time based on several
activities.Expertise of your husband Dr Wahal can also be used while
developing the program. I would like to add that I will be in a
position to arrange my TA. Dr Wahal may arrange my stay in the
