Research position in DBT-NBDB (SAC) sponsored research project on “BIOPROSPECTING FOR Muscodor spp.: AN INDUSTRIALLY IMPORTANT ENDOPHYTIC GENUS IN INDIA” Position: Junior Research Fellow (ONE) Qualification: M.Sc. Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Botany spl. Mycology / Biotechnology having experience in Mycology and Molecular Biology of fungi and preferable exposure to work with human cell lines. Stipend: Rs. 12000 pm + 5% HRA Duration: 1.0 year initially 1. Interested candidates should submit their Curriculum vitae, preferably by email indicating their research experience and interests with names of two referees positively by 23rd January, 2009 (Friday). 2. Interested candidates are advised to come for interview on January 29th, 2009(Thursday) in the Department of Biotechnology & Environmental Sciences, Thapar University, Patiala. The interviews will be held in the Office of Dean ( Research & Sponsored Projects) , Patiala 3. No separate interview or call letters will be despatched. No TA/ DA will be given for attending the interview.

Thanthonimalai , a part of Karur Town in Tamilnadu is with dense population of Parthenium plant in its residential areas.
High incidence of ashtma/wheezing is found in this area and people are not aware of this deadly plants presence. People are suffering from wheezing/ ashtma in this area and not getting complete cure inspite of continued treatments. Problem blown out of proportion after good monsoon during November08, which helped the plants to breed well. Large population of children have become vulnerable target to this menace.
Please guide us to get out of this problem and save our younger generation.
