Dear Moderators,

Please post this in your esteemed forum.

Ref. Text Books and Procreation

This is not a reply to Sri Thomas P“thoughts” that came in ICON on Thursday July 10th 2008.

It is an attempt to unravel what surge in me.

In the life of a child, the period of procreation is from the womb of the mother to the time he reaches maturity- 15 to 20th year. Of these years, the early years till he is 13 to 14, his mind is like a blotting paper. He absorbs everything –good and bad. When he is in the seventh standard, he is 12-13, and is still very impressive. What he learns then, he is likely to retain in his life; of course subject to further beget by his friends, peers, spouse, media internet, teachers, curricula and other educational structures and other influences of his ambience. That is why the Church is insistent on Sunday Schooling of children.

I happened to come across a thesis presented to the Kerala University for a Ph.D diploma by late Prof.R.Ramakrishnan Nair.([1])It explained that the SFI ( Student Federation of India) students did the propaganda to make the communist candidates in the General Election of 1957 to win and get into power in Kerala through the ballot paper. ([2]) It also said that, that prompted Mrs. Indira Gandhi to start KSU (Kerala Students Union), the student wing for the youth Congress of Kerala. “Catch one young” was the principle behind it. Ideas instilled into younger minds become indelible and get rooted to bear fruits. Marxist used this technique in Kerala from the !940s. So the teachers and text books and instructions given to children till they are in the tenth std (14-15 years) are very significant in the moulding of the child.

From a purely social angle we can think of Jesus as a visionary; like Bacon or Plato. dreaming a new social order based on universal love. Bacon’s “Utopia”, Plato’s Ideal State, Bhagavath Gita, Bible, Quran,  Gandhinji’s concept of Rama Rajya are all visionary dreams of a new peaceful social order.

The new social order of Jesus is based on human love, exalted to God’s love. It is the quintessence of the Universe itself. It is the love emanating from one particle which demand reciprocity so that they get bound together and thus with every particle in the unit. Thus all planets, stars, atoms in organic and inorganic entities, neutrons and protons. quarks and anti quarks and so on keep their own places in the Universe.[3]

Similarly there must be this universal love between all men in the human society for a peaceful existence. For ecological balance this love must extend to all organic and inorganic matter around you. Universal peace can be established only when all human society  extends their universal love to every other such society and matter in the Universe.

It is this Universal attraction called gravity which Buckminster Fuller describes as Synergy[4] to bring World peace in a decades’ time.. It is the universal love, called gravity, in particle physics.

What is the essence of Christianity? This can be gleaned from the 3 sources: -

  1. The Gospels
  2. The writings of Early Fathers of the Church.
  3. The teachings of the Fathers and Malpans of the Church.

From these sources we understand that Christianity has four basic ideas.

1. God is our father and all men are our brothers. In the light of the extension of our knowledge and environmental and ecological concerns of modern man, our Church Fathers now extend the terms “brothers” to incorporate all animate and inanimate things in the World. So the idea of Universal Brotherhood of Man under the Fatherhood of God has become Universal Synergic Love (Cosmic Love) to everything Under the Fatherhood of God.

2. Kingdom of God is at hand and right in front of  you. It is within us. It is not a promise for the future. One can enter into it immediately by starting to live his new life in Christ.(Luke.17:21)based on Universal love.

3. Life is the true measure of value. So life of Christians must reflect Jesus to others. That alone is the real worth of being a follower of Christ. In this sense all are evangelists and disciples of Jesus. All Christian  teachers also are shepherds.. He must teach and show them what Christianity is by his life. His life must mirror Christ to his wards.

4. Human Society must be regenerated here, and now. In other words Christianity is not merely a religious idea, but it is also a social concept of a better society: the Kingdom of God. We may call it Heaven or "Suwargam" The method to organise the new Society is the quintessence of the teachings of Jesus and the Church. The technical modality is to practice Synergic Love of God .This “love” is the basic structure of all animate and inanimate things in the Universe.

This is the social theory  of God.—God’s creation.

[1] Dr. R. Ramakrishnan Nair- “ How Communists came into Power in Kerala”. He was Head of the Dept. of Politics, Kerala University in the 1970s

[2] This was the first time in history that a communist party came into power to form a Government through the ballot paper

[3] So the idea of Universal Brotherhood of Man Under the Fatherhood of God has become Universal Synergic Love (Cosmic Love) to Everything Under the Fatherhood of God. This term requires further expansion, which, we shall not take up now.

[4] Buckminster Fuller:-monograph. “Heaven in ten years”. In this he explains the need for Synergic Love by all the de-sovereignised individuals in the Society. It is cosmic love,This will make everyone to live in peace and happiness
