Bishops' visits to Gulf.   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #49 of 1888 |
Hope everyone in our church is aware of frequent Gulf visits by our
bishops. They speak, pray and preach with the intention of
gathering more money for their charity or other projects. In gulf
churches every friday is a day of money collection one way or
another. Why they do not say to people that we all are called for to
live as Christ, and it is for us to express Christ through ourselves. I know it
is easier to be said than done.

These days people think of bishops or attach bishops with luxury
and power. If a bishop visit my house means either I hold enormous
wealth or wealth and power. Here in Dubai I never heard of any of
our bishops going to a person who can not afford Kaimuthu and Mesa
though Bishops come here and stay without a very busy schedule.
Remember majority of our brothers are working under harsh climate,
no bishop bothers to visit them and say a word of appreciation.

Is it not a strange contradiction that one who represents Jesus and
his disciple owns luxury cars when many of church members
struggle to get their kids educated and girls married?
Doesn't the church ask for accountability of the finance they
receive?.

Does the church let its bishops to spent majority of their efforts on
charitable projects and gathering monetary support.
Don't we ask ourselves on what basis the growth of church is
measured? Number of it members or spiritual development or
witnessing life or number of institutions or the volume of wealth .

Sorry I couldn't finish it
Catch you up later

Mathew
