PFA the list of absentees in TOPA on the first night. Lots of people from our batch had voluntarily spent a lot of time in deciding topics, making groups, informing and educating juniors about TOPA and still these set of absentees dint turn up.
Actions to be taken and what to do with this list will be very subjective and views will vary from person to person, but there should be something done to discipline the junior batch more. Not that things have not been done, but there is definitely a need for more. All from management batch of 2010 who were there for TOPA will agree with this.
12 times attendance was taken during groove. I ld request the impact, coordcom to send the collated excel as soon as it is done.

Cybercom has been proactively taking up the issues concerning this internet problem. We have already convinced Mr. Naidu for providing the internet full time. Also, we have been discussing opening up of orkut and facebook as well, and that would also be opened most probably.
The problem is that the providing Internet during the day to hostels is not solely in hands of mr naidu now and the reason is not the downloading alone now. It has become an administrative issue now. And admin is of the view that net should not be provided during the day to hostels since students are meant to be in classes. This admin consisits majorly of some ITM deptt faculty.
We are in talks with them. Obviously 24x7 internet is one of the necessities in a B school, but they are of a different view. This would be resolved soon.
We have already convinced them that there wont be any dwnload problem now, due to firewall and the communication in the batch.Regarding the Fine as proposed by mayank, we feel that a wider opinion from the batch is required
And we have many times recommended them for the user based system to put in place to find out who is misusing the internet. But putting up this system requires some infrastructure which can't be done immediately.
As for the speed, the internet line is getting upgrded to 2.5 times the speed at which its running now. But again thats in process. As for the present condition of speed, we have talked to the manager and they would be talking to ISP to know abt the problem.
Also, the wi fi installation and testing for hostel 1, 2, 3 and 4 has been completed. It would start working in a week or so, along with the instructions on how to connect to it and all.
The VP (Prashant) has been in loop for all this and was part of some of our meetings with Mr. Naidu as well.
We thought that the communication to the batch should be done onlly after we reach the desired results.
Well, it has been 5 days since the college has started and for the first 2 days, Mr. Naidu was not available. So it has not been quite long since the negotiations are on. Anyways, yeah it takes some time to get things done here in NITIE, so i kindly request you people to be a little patient and usage of phrases like "incapability of cybercom " should be avoided without knowing how much effort and progress has been made.
Another request to the batch, please dont go to the computer center individually for the problems. It happens many times that they are pissed off coz 1 by 1 many people start going there. Let the cybercom take those issues up.

We have been in regular touch with the CC regarding the Net problem. During our discussions today an important issue which came up was:
Excess Downloading in Hostels even during daytime due to which the faculty has complained that they can't use the Net.
In response to this , it has been decided to cut the net in the hostels during the office hours. i.e 9 to 5.
We have had a talk regarding this and the CC has agreed to monitor the situation over the next few days and if the situation improves would reduce the cut frm 9 - 5 to 9 - 2.
We have recieved specific complaints against people downloading .

I have a very noble cause behind sending this mail to all of you.Please spare some time to read through it. My Army friend  met a guy named Mr. Ravi Shankar on the train when he was returning from chennai on 26th of December, 2008.
I was having a regular chat with him regarding the Army and its rules and regulations and how the forces are admired in our country. He then told me about a shocking tragedy that his family went through and hence I write this mail to you seeking your help.
He told me that he was posted in CAR-NICOBAR in the year 2004 as a seargent in the INDIAN AIR-FORCE.. On 26th of december that year his family fell victim to the
Unfortunate Tsunami that struck out eastern coast.He along with his wife and two children(photo below) were washed in the deadly waters.Reaching out his wife managed to cling onto
A tree but his small son(picture insight on the left)had swollowed too much water and passed away in her arms. Ravi also in desperation to swim lost grip of his daughter's(APURVA) hand.
She was washed away and was never to be found again,until one day they came to know of her being sighted at a relief camp. On contacting the authorities they came to know that this little girl Was abducted from the relief camp and was missing again. Since then Mr. Ravi shankar has been travelling to chennai every year with a hope to see his daughter. He has been publishing  MISSING coloums in major daily's in chennai,and he showed me how heavily these newspapers had a charged him for a those ad's. One of the major newspapers charged him a whooping amount of 12000 rupees
for a 4 X 4 cm ad(that too on the fourth page). Please donot consider this mail a regular chain mail and do care to forward this to your near and dear ones. He requested me to do something to reach out to people who use e-media(internet etc.).I myself have posted her picture on my blog and i request people who own there personal blog pages to post this girl's picture there as it could be of significant help. last couple of days I had been busy interacting with SaiHarsha, trying

things go around at NITIE and the interaction has been quite
informative. As we all know, the lateral
placements of our senior batch is about to begin in a couple of days.

The Responsibilities of the Vice President are as follows:
·A link between the students and the college authorities
·Responsible for taking up new initiatives in the interest of the batch
·Synergizing the efforts put in by all committees in interest of the batch
·Responsible for resolving conflicts amongst committees and in the batch.
The Selection procedure for the "Vice President - Management Batch of 2010" is as follows:

The Manjunath Shanmugam Trust is an international pan-IIM alumni initiative that works to improve governance in Indian public life. The trust was instituted in the memory of Manjunath Shanmugam, an alumnus of IIM Lucknow, who sacrificed his life while carrying out his professional duty as an honest individual. The Trust works on various anti-corruption initiatives; the trust also worked relentlessly on Manjunath's murder case and succeeded in bringing all the 8 accused to book in a record 9 months' trial. The key accused was awarded death penalty and
the rest were awarded life imprisonment.
We, at the trust, are organizing a candle light march across college campuses in India on 19th November 2008 to commemorate his death anniversary. We request the entire student community of India to join us in the candle light march to show their solidarity with the cause and help in awakening nationwide consciousness about widespread corruption prevalent in the country.
Having thought and talked much about deep-rooted corruption and government insensitiveness, this candle light march gives the student community an opportunity to make their voice heard on these issues.
We request your institute to take part in the candle light march at your own campus. The timings of the same shall be intimated to you soon. We expect at least 75 students from each institute to take part in the candle light march at their respective campuses.
