Barely two weeks after the solar eclipse of 21JUN2001, a partial lunar eclipse occurs today 05JUL2001.
The partial eclipse starts at 13:35UT and ends at 16:16UT.
During this period, kindly observe the necessary eclipse precautions
as we have posted on previous eclipses.
The above timing is in Universal Time (UT). To convert to your local time,
just add (or subtract if you are west of Greenwich) your time zone hour/s and daylight savings hour.
For example, for Malaysia-Singapore (08:00 hours east of Greenwich), the precautionary period is from 21:35-24:16 Malaysia Standard Time.
The best thing to do during this period is to bathe in a holy river (if you have access to one) for purification and
chant the Holy Names of God. An eclipse is also always a good time to give charity to worthy causes.
