St. Dionysius Orthodox Study Forum (SDOSF) has been set up with the approval of the Holy Episcopal Synod of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church in the name of St. Dionysius (Geevarghese Mar Dionysius Vattasseril)

St. Dionysius is popularly known as "Malankara Sabha Bhasuran" (The Great Luminary of Malankara (Indian) Orthodox Church), which our Church has bestowed on him in recognition of his rich contributions to the Orthodox Church of India. St. Dionysius was a man of prayer, determination and dynamism. He bravely fought for the establishment of Catholicate to be the symbol of self-identity and independence of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.

St. Dionysius was the disciple of the first declared Saint of Malankara St. Gregorious of Parumala.

St. Dionysius was the founder of spiritual organizations like Student Movement, Women's Organization, and Society of the Cross. Basic Doctrines of the Church (Madoupadeshasarangal) - The book authored by him is still valuable for Malankara Church.

St. Dionysius was the Malankara Metropolitan from 1909 to 1934. He entered eternal life on 23rd February 1934, and his body was entombed at Old Seminary, Kottayam. In 2003, The Holy Episcopal Synod of our church canonised St.Dionysius as a Saint on his 69th Remembrance Day on 24th February 2003.
