Re: [sherlock holmes society of india] Digest Number 718

I think it was my mom who told me about this society, saying she had seen a
board quite near the Kapaleshwar Temple (quite close to our former residence) a
while back..."a while back" unfortunately meaning more than a year. By the time
I went to enquire, the board, along with the Society had disappeared! This was
back during 1989-1990, I guess.

Dear Jeff and Holmesians,
I do not know of any radio programme on Sherlock Holmes made or
broadcast by any radio stations in India.
However, I do recall Dr Krishnaswamy, an avid Sherlockian and founder
of the The Sherlock Holmes Society of Madras used to stage plays in
which he played Sherlock Holmes himself. The Sherlock Holmes Society
of Madras is now defunct consequent to the demise of its founder.
In fact, you still find some Sherlockian sites speaking of Sherlock
Holmes Society of Madras.
