The analysis of SH's attitude towards women has been excellent. Regarding
his solicitous attitude towards Mrs Watson, I haven't looked into the books
but didn't SH contrive a way to get Watson to sell the latter's medical
practice so Watson would return to his role as SH's partner in crime
(detection)? Would this have been to Mrs Watson's liking?

Dear Anand and Holmesians,
You have done a fantastic analysis of Sherlock Holmes way with women.
I would also like to add on one minor point. He always used to enquire
very solicitiously about Mrs Watson's health. He was the epitome of
Victorian Chivalry
