Dear Holmesians,
The entire literary device of using a sidekick for a detactive arose
from the sucess of Dr Watson narration of the adventures of the
master. This has been copied by many,Agatha Christie 's Capt Hastings
is one which immediately in mind but with indifferent sucess.
Dr Watson was also quite modest about his intellectual capacity
though he was an MD.His intelligence nevertheless shines through in
the adventure of the Resident Patient when he shows Dr Trevylan that
he is well read and up to date in medical knowledge.Sherlock Holmes
had great regard for the Doctor as shown in the adventure of Charles
Augustus milverton.
thanx for joining mark.sameer, you have been the life of this
society and ashok has been dynamic infusing new life in this
society,way to go
