Several houses damaged in Himachal

Shimla, October 8: A high intensity earthquake today
rocked several areas of Himachal Pradesh leaving many
houses and roads damaged.
The tremors, which hit at 9:25 am, lasted for over a
minute in the state.
The quake caused road breaches in some areas of Chamba
district and some houses developed cracks. The
Chamba-Langhra road was damaged at Kakeera, 60 km from
Chamba, while Chamba-Dargala road was blocked due to
heavy landslide near Dhargala, 50 km from Chamba,
reports reaching here said. About half a dozen houses
in Kakeera, including a private health centre,
developed cracks while wall of a house collapsed. The
tremors were also felt in Naha, Shimla, Solan,
Hamirpur, Una, Dharamsala, Palampur, Sundernagar,
Mandi, Kullu and Dalhousie. However, no loss of life
and property was reported.
