Dear Mr Liem,
In this case, your boss are correct, you better use BPTO rather than conjoint because only price and brand which involve on your research.
I think it would be difficult if you do manually, because in BPTO you have to calculate simulation number.
Better you use BPTO software.
Maybe you can ask your regional people in other country, ussualy research agency have licence on BPTO software.

Subject: [Statisticians_group] Brand Price Trade-Off Analysis
Hello all statisticians,
My name is Taufiqul Halim, now i am working in a research agency in Indonesia.
I have a little problem with Trade-off analysis, especially in the matter of a Brand-Price trade-off Analysis.I dont know how to run the Brand-Price Trade-Off analysis, The primary data has been collected through face to face interview with the selected respondents with the structured questioner provided bellow;:
Price1 Price2 Price3 ... PriceN
Brand1 --- --- --- ... ---
Brand2 --- --- --- ... ---
...
Brandn --- --- --- ... ---
No choice
Where each respondent will give the rank of choices.
at first, i have planned using conjoint analysis, but my boss told me to run with BPTO analysis instead. I have no idea how to process it step by step or manually.....
So, would that be possible for you to give me an easy guidline on running that method? Thank you for your time and consideration .
PS: at the moment I'm using SPSS 14
Thanks
Liem
