RE: [Statisticians_group] HELP!!!

Dear Christine,

>>I am comparing two different nationalities and I have no idea what to do next.

For comparing two different nationalities,

What are all variables using to compare two different nationalities?

Is it continuous or discrete or nominal or ordinal variables?

Analysis will be determined based on Objectives and Data!!!

If your objective is clear, then frame the study design; collect the data as per your design; get the exact data what needed for analysis;

As per your example, age is continuous, if you are comparing age of two different nationalities you can use t-test but your data should satisfy assumptions of t-test. If it fails to satisfy the assumptions, you have to go for some transformation then t-test or non-parametric.

Regards,

Sasikumar,

Hi I am a psychology master student working on my dissertation and
trying to analyze my data using SPSS, so far I only have the mean and
standard deviation figured out for my participants. I am comparing two
different nationalities and I have no idea what to do next...any advice??
I need to see if the differences between age/gender is significant
with a t-test but i have no idea how.
Anyone know good references??
Please any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Super Stressed Christine
