Multiple Regression - Extrapolating the Outside range value of X

Hi Friends,

Could you anyone help to solve this below qurey in Multiple regression model.

Situation: (Software process Problem)

I have developed model to predict the defect density based some three factors such as Domain experience, Technical Experience, and Estimated Effort for the projects.

Model having good fit with above 85% R-Square and above 80% R- Sqaure adjusted value. VIF is also less than 5 which explains no muliticolieanarity present between x factors.

Now i want to know, What range value for X, the regression model hold good fit?

Kindly help me to findout this.

I thank you in Advance.

Regards,
Baskaran.

Baskaran, You didn't mention the functional form of your x factors in the model. However, assuming you've inserted them linearly, I wouldn't feel safe going...

If (and only if :) the fit of your data is sound, you might try an exponential fit (for the decay in incremental benefit) suggested by Andrew). If this type...
