Hello ,
In sampling theory ,there are methods in selecting samplesize .
As in the problem ,
1. Divide the total plot into size.
2. In the problem the required sample size not mentioned . divide the total into the given size .
3. Use Simple Random Sampling Without replacement ,to select sample size and divide into attributes solve the problem by using the BIBD or Factorial Experiments.
4. If ,the problem
is devided into upto 6 x 6 LSD ,You can get better results.for better results , perform Pairwise mean test .
Bye ,

Friends! Can any one help me in solving a problem of sample selection?????I have a plot of 314 ha area.I need to study the soil characteristics of that plot. For studying soil characteristics the sampling unit ideally should be a sub-plot of size 0.5 ha. I dont have any idea about the soil of the plot to be sampled from any previous study. How many samples should I take from that plot to estimate the soil characteristics which would be statistically sound. And how to estimate the precision and bias? Also how to draw the sample units?Expecting your valuable inputs. With regards,Madan
