I don't think any port of linux to Nokia handsets have been brought into notice.
But it can be done. Recently a guy from Italy ported linux to apple's iPod! He used
uClinux for that.
Most of the nokia handset use 32-bit ARM9 based CPUs and run Symbian OS on them.
Its very much possible to port linux on that but would need a little more work to do that.

Is it possible to install Linux on Mobile by replacing Nokia OS?
Is there any effort it develop something like Universal OS, so that I
can have same thing on Mobile, PC on desktop, and other devices. With
common things (database or interface), so that information may be
transferred between these devices and may be put as web pages
seamlessly without much effort.
