I have also found a local resource from where I can get
linux DVDs. I am trying there first!

Hi Himanshu, You didn't mention which DVD burner frontend were you using on Mandriva LE 2005. I am pretty sure it must be K3B. The problem sounds DVD hardware...

Voila!! I succeeded in burning a DVD finally.... Don't use "Auto" speed in the menu... Choose 2x the "Max" You will succeed!! Finally I can archive my data!! ...
