Lindows.com is asking a federal judge in Seattle for help in an
ongoing trademark battle with software giant Microsoft Corp. In a
case with international ramifications, Lindows.com filed a motion
yesterday in U.S. District Court asking a judge to prevent Microsoft
from filing foreign trademark lawsuits against the 70-employee San
Diego company. Lindows.com also is asking the court to declare a
ruling from a Dutch judge unenforceable in the United States, pending
the outcome of a trial here. So far, Microsoft has filed trademark
lawsuits against Lindows in France, Sweden, The Netherlands, Finland
and Canada.
