I am talking about above partition. I am logged in as digitalsecure
and after su'ing I use chown -R digitalsecure:digitalsecure /mnt/back
It says
"Changing ownership of /mnt/D: Operation not permitted"

It belongs to root and as root I cannot change its ownership. Why?

chown the full directory as chown -R root:root /mnt/back and then you will be the owner of the back directory/partition... then you can read/write the...

hi Himanshu, Please try to change the mod of folder d using chmod 777 -R /mnt/D and look, if it helps. In case it not..please post your /etc/fstab file as...
