Yes that's true, it costs around $49 for the non-membership version
and with the membership version (that comes with some kind of support
and privileges) for $119 and with a restrictive licensing
structure...the worst part!
Plus, I take it this way that Lindows actually is "Windons-ization' of
Linux, and should not be promoted. I similarly view WINE. Through WINE
one can install MS Office packages onto their Linux system. OK
Fine....but these packages again have the licensing structure that
goes against the Linux ideology. I am of the opinion that WINE should
not be used to promote MS proprietary software. Because when you have
to accept EULA for a package on an OS that has GPL, the whole purpose
gets defeated. Someone using a MS or other similar software (in terme
s of lack of openness and licensing structure) on top of a Linux
distribution is actually one big hypocrite.
