Location        : Hartford, CT and Troy, NY

Duration        : 9+ Months 

Positions       : 2 (1position in CT and 1 position in NY)

Rate               : $38/hr. Fixed

Experience   : 4-6 Years 

 

Position Description : 

• Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database.
• Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes.
• Resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
• 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a manager.

 

Additional notes directly from the hiring manager (extremely important): 

v      What kind of Database(s) is being used?  
All databases are being used, the more they know the better.  Primarily UDB, Oracle and MS SQL.

 

v       Is this a productions support position? NO, it is a development position

 

v      Should the person have :

·         Oracle Exp.? Yes  

·         Sybase Exp.? Preferably

·         SQL Exp.?  Yes

·         DB2 Exp.? Preferably

·         Any others that the candidate must know?  The more they know the better

 

v      Are you looking for someone with - Oracle DBA with RMAN, RAC etc... Or UDB with EE/EEE?
No specific skills around Oracle or UDB niches( RMAN, RAC etc...) UDB EE rather than EEE
