The successful candidate will become part of a team that is responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of a proprietary equity trading system.

Specific assignments will involve managing the integration of WebLogic application servers and related infrastructure; includes the configuration, tuning, deployment, and monitoring of WebLogic servers on the Solaris operating system.

 

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

* General knowledge of the securities industry is preferred.

* Advanced knowledge of WebLogic application server configuration and tuning on the Solaris operating system.

* Advanced knowledge of the Java/J2EE programming language, software development tools and environment(s)and systems analysis and functional design.

* Knowledge of C++ programming is desirable.

* Experience with multi-tier, multi-threaded, high-volume transaction processing systems.

* General knowledge of relational database design and database concepts (Sybase preferred).

* Advanced knowledge of application design principles, practices, system development methodologies and software life cycles.

* Thorough knowledge of software change control procedures.

* Demonstrated ability to participate in all phases of application software development.

Candidate will be a part of a fast-pace development team split between San Jose, CA and Tampa. Some travel may be required. Candidate should have experience in either Agile or Scrum methodologies. 
 

 

 

Part of a long term project that will extend beyond 6-months.

This candidate will be responsible for the overall database application code (Stored procedures, SQL scripts) and fine tuning the database repositories. The candidate will provide guidance and standards to the database developers, help in writing the design specifications and review the code for the database artifacts (stored procedures, scripts etc).

As a Data Architect, you will participate in project planning sessions with IT managers and the development team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution. You will participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply to Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps. You will design and document all conceptual, logical and physical database model changes, translate these changes into SQL, and participate in the deployment of these changes through the environments. Additionally, you will be responsible for design/development/maintenance of the application's ETL layer which includes data extraction for data warehouse purposes.
