Re: [andamanicobar] my website on Jero, The Great Andamanese
DMr. Narang
Thanks for your notification which I have only just now been able to
follow up.
Interesting site! I shall spend more time there in future to study it.
Do I have your permission to put a link from our site to yours?
One question: why are you calling the "Great Andamanese" or
"Andamanese" in your site "Jero"? Is this a newly invented name or an
alternative spelling of "Aka-Jeru", as one of the extinct Great
Andamanese tribes used to be called? According to Manoharan, the
Aka-Jeru language was one of the major influences on the new language
as spoken on Straits island - but it is not the same. I am just curious
where the name "Jero" is coming from.
Best wishes
