Job Title: Program Coordinator

Location: Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu, India

Job purpose: In line with YUVA’s plan of working with
SIFFS in rehabilitation of affected communities in and
around Nagapattinam district, to work with the YUVA
team to provide support to ongoing work with YUVA’s
objectives and ways of working

Reporting Line: Program Manager, Tsunami
Rehabilitation Project

Liaison / Coordination: Other project related staff in
the project.

Key Responsibilities:

To assist the program manager in the implementation of
project by undertaking regular visits to project areas
to monitor implementation and be responsible for
evaluation of all project objectives.
To plan and work with the team of SIFFS (South Indian
Federation of Fishermen Societies) on a regular basis
and develop the work plan for the YUVA visiting team.
To constantly liaise with local organisations who are
working on long term rehabilitation in the region and
to attend various network meetings and represent the
position of YUVA on several issues in these meetings
To prepare high quality project reports.
To adhere to minimum organizational standards in
writing project appraisal reports and financial
reports if required.
To assist the program manager in identifying training
needs of the different teams involved in
rehabilitation and in organizing training programs
during the course of the project cycle.
To be in constant interaction with the yuva visiting
team and look in to their travel plans, logistics,
work plans etc.


Key Requirements:

Masters in Social work or related field with atleast
two years of experience of having worked in the
development sector
Experience of handling projects independently and
preparing position papers and reports
Excellent communication skills with a special focus on
writing skills
Excellent reading, writing and speaking skills in
Tamil language along with English.
Knowledge of Hindi would be preferred.
Experience of working in disaster rehabilitation
projects would be preferred.



Remuneration:


Negotiable for the right candidate
