Hello All,

I am a researcher, presently at Harvard University. I did my Ph.D.
from the NCBS-TIFR centre at Bangalore and my undergraduate education from
Pune. I have broad interests in Ecology, Evolution and Biology in general.
I had visited A & N islands for about a month during march-april 2000.
While my primary purpose was to visit a friend who was a scuba-diving
instructor staying on Havelock island; during the visit I was most
fascinated by the natural beauty of the islands, the coral reefs, and the
history as well as state of the native tribes there. The memories as well
as the fascination of the islands still hold and draw me to ethical and
scientific issues related to the conservation, the unique biology and the
tribes of the islands.

I hope to learn more from this group and be able to visit the
islands often in future.
