hello,
i agree on what Mr. Samir Acharya has pointed out on Casino group of
hotels and also his suggestions. The casino group is an example how we can
develop tourism invoving local people and without disturbing much of natural
resources.
It is a sucess story to add life to agro-tourism. Mr. Jose Dominic, Chairman of
Kochi-based Casino group who promoted the synergic tie-up of Organic farming and
tourism yielded a good result. He tried it out in Kuttanad where tourists who
were provided the facillity for a hands-on-experience at farming gave the farmer
Rs. 50 a day. But his major plan is a tie-up with farmers in the high ranges
where tourists will be charged $20 a day for trying out farming under the
supervision of local farmers.
Whether it is eco-tourism or agro-tourism, what i feel is that there should be
local people's involvement .
