The traditional fisherman are really suffering on all ends. The
tragedies of Tsunamy are far from over yet and now this notification
from Union Ministry is certainly not in their favour. Why cant the
think tank in Delhi come out with some policies that will give
better lively hood to our traditional fisherman. As such the market
is so small in Andamans the price they get is hardly sufficient to
support their daily needs.Instead of providing some good market for
their catch these new policies will only deteriorate their living
conditions.I was with them after the Tsunami and have seen sights
that hare hard to forget.
Mr Peter You are working in the right direction ,you need full
support from all who care for the traditional fisherman and their
well being.We are with you.
After Tsunami the boats that were given to these fishermem were not
of right type and were of very poor qualty.
The Bounga type boats were of right type and shhould be given to
them.
