Natural and Cultural Heritage of Coastal Zones:
integration, assessment, mapping, planning, management, policy
First Summer Course of the Cambridge Centre for Landscape and People
hold at Darwin College, Cambridge UK
28 July - 1 August 2008

Researchers, professionals, governmental and NGO officers engaged in
coastal zones are invited to participate to this international
interdisciplinary intensive course aimed at bridging nature and culture
along the coast.

The course offers a novel integrative approach to the analysis,
evaluation, mapping, planning and management of world coastlines with
the view to preserving their natural and cultural values, including
their landscapes, beauty, history, ecosystems and services.
International experts will convey innovative methods, tools and measures
for biocultural conservation and for the prevention of, and responses
to, natural and human hazards worldwide. Contributions and outcomes will
be selected for scientific publication. Places are limited.

Date of first selection: 15th June 2008

Application forms with abstracts due: 10th June 2008
