High Level Delegation from Phuket arriving today
Port Blair, June 10.
A 64-member high level delegation from Thailand is arriving here by a
special chartered aircraft from Phuket at 11.00 AM on 11th June, 2004. This
delegation is visiting the Islands as a reciprocal gesture to the visit of
the delegation from Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry which had led
116 members to Phuket on November 2003.
The delegation includes Shri Siwa Samanee, Deputy Permanent Secretary,
Ministry of Interior, Shri Siwa Sirisoawaluk, Vice Permanent Secretary,
Ministry of Interior, Shri Jit Phasompong, Deputy Governor of Phang-nga
Province, Shri Theeratep Sriyapant, Deputy Governor of Krabi Province and
the Governor of Phuket Province, Shri Udomsak Uswarangkura. Also
accompanying is the Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Bangkok, Shri
T.P. Seetharam.
During the visit, the Dignitaries is scheduled to hold high level
discussions with the Lt. Governor, Prof. Ram Kapse and the Senior Officers
of the A&N Administration on subjects ranging from tourism, fisheries, air
connectivity, IT, education, investment and other related subjects. The
delegation will also be visiting the various places of interest in and
around Port Blair. On completion of the tour, they will return to the Phuket
on 13th of June, 2004, an ACCI release said today.
