Water Supply to be Curtailed to 30% in South Andaman

Port Blair, March 3: Due to receding of water level in Dhanikhari Dam
and other sources, it has been decided by the competent authority to
impose curtailment against the present drawl of water from Dhanikhari
Dam and other sources.
Accordingly, 30% curtailment will be made to all areas being supplied by
APWD under different Panchayats such as Garacharma-I, Garacharma-II,
Dollygunj, Sipighat, Prothrapur, Brichgunj, Beodnabad, Chouldari,
Humfreygunj and Guptapara under the jurisdiction of Public Health
Engineering Division, APWD with effect from 12.03.2009.
The general public has been requested to use water judiciously and
cooperate with APWD.
