LG releases book on Economic Survey of A&N Islands-2007-08

Port Blair, May 04: The Lt Governor, Bhopinder Singh today released a
book on 'Economic Survey of A & N Islands-2007-08'. The book is prepared
by Directorate of Economics & Statistics of the A&N Administration and
is the first publication of this kind. The survey provides analytical
data for a large number of sectors like public finance, agriculture &
allied activities, industries, energy, transport, urban development,
environment, sanitation, education, health, social welfare, rural
development, trade and commerce. The book will be of great use to the
data users, planners, policy makers, social workers and research worker
in enhancing their understanding on the socio-economic scenario of
Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Director of Economics & Statistics, Smt
Saskikala Viswanathan presented the book to the Lt Governor in presence
of the Chief Secretary, Mr. Vivek Rae.
