Chairman, Natl. Commission for Scheduled Tribes to visit isles

The Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, Shri Kanwar
Singh will be on a five-day visit to the islands from Dec 6, 2004.
During his stay here, Shri Singh will meet the senior officers of A&N
Administration, on Dec 6, 2004. He will visit Strait Island and meet with
the Great Andamanese on Dec 7, 2004.
He is scheduled to visit Indira Point, Chingen village and meet Shompen
Tribe on Dec 8, 2004. The Chairman will also visit Mus tribal village and
meet with Nicobarese tribal leaders at Perka village the same day.
On Dec 9, 2004, Shri Singh will visit Kakana tribal village. He will also
visit Dugong Creeck in Little Andaman and meet the Onge tribal there on the
same day. In the afternoon of the day he will meet the Lt. Governor, Chief
Secretary and other senior Officers at Raj Niwas.
Other itinerary of the dignitary include visit to places of tourist
interest and historical importance in the islands. After completion of
visit, the Chairman will leave for Kolkata on Dec 11, 2004, a communication
