Himachal to develop temple tourist circuit

Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh), June 2 (IANS) The Himachal Pradesh
government is planning to develop a tourist circuit covering
important temples in five districts at a cost of Rs.80 million.
The objective of the project is to provide basic amenities to
tourists visiting the districts of Hamirpur, Mandi, Bilaspur, Kullu
and Lahaul & Spiti, Mandi divisional commissioner K.J.B.V.
Subramanium told IANS here.
The project was also aimed at creating an environment that would
attract more tourists to the temple circuit and also make them
consider a prolonged stay in state.
The temples to be covered under the project include those of Baba
Balak Nath in Hamirpur, Maan Naina Devi in Bilaspur, Hadimba Maata
in Kullu, Tarna temple in Mandi, Malan village in Kullu and Dhankar
in Lahaul-Spiti.
The deputy commissioners of the five districts would meet this week
to finalise details of the project, he added.
The administration has also sought people's views on the proposed
project.
