Himachal plans new township: Virbhadra :
India News > Shimla, Nov 4 : Himachal Pradesh is planning a high-
tech, ultra modern, and planned satellite township at Vaknaghat for
accommodating about 30,000 residents from all sections of the
society, Chief Minister V.B. Singh said today.
Presiding over the high level meeting of Himachal Urban Development
Authority here, he said development of a satellite township with a
social angle was the need of the hour to decongest the major towns
of the state.
Singh said the proposed township would have shopping, educational
institutions, open and green space, parking, health clubs, rain
water harvesting provisions, recreational centres and service sector
facilities.
He said besides taking care of the high-end category of the society
the low-income groups' requirements would also be kept in mind so
that the town could be self sufficient and well equipped and
services from outside the town requisitioned only in exceptional
cases.
Her said the hill architecture would be the added beauty of the
upcoming township. PTI
