Integrated programme for the old

The state government will soon launch a new programme for the elderly
citizens of the state. It will be called the "Integrated Programme
for Old People".
This was stated by minister for social justice and empowerment
Sarveen Chaudhary during a meeting of senior officials of the
department here today. She said the efforts of the government were
aimed at providing a respectable life to the elderly by providing
them all possible facilities.
She said 90 per cent of the cost would be borne by the Centre. A
grant-in-aid of Rs 4.06 lakh would be given for a project providing
day care, health care and other facilities to about 50 elderly
persons. A grant of up to Rs 2.96 lakh would be provided to every
organisation working in the filed of mental health care and
specialised care for elderly persons.
Chaudhary said a grant of Rs 1.2 lakh each would be provided to
agencies that ran day care centres for 20 old persons suffering from
dementia.
