One of our NGO associates SDRS is organising a blood donation camp in Shimla. It is all the more important as blood banks almost run dry in winters due to lack of blood donation in this season.

During severe winters there is always an acute shortage of blood in all the three blood banks of Shimla resulting more threat to life of patients who require blood immediate transfusion. Thalassemic children also face the same problem.
Keeping in view the grim situation nowadays UMANG Foundation for Children with Thalassemia, with the support of Society for Disability and Rehabilitation Studies, Himachal Pradesh Chapter, is organizing a voluntary blood donation camp in Shimla on the auspicious ocassion of Makar Sankranti as per following:
Date - 14th January, 2009 ( Wednesday)
Time - 11 AM to 3 PM
Venue - The Ridge, Shimla
We appeal one and all to support the cause by donating blood for the Children
with Thalassemia in the camp and celebrate Makar Sankranti, the Daan Parv, in its true sense. The team from Blood Bank of Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla would conduct the camp.
