Folks
Anbumani Ramdoss is the Union Health Minister. As a union minister,
he is supposed to look after the whole country's interest. However,
this regionalist has nothing but contempt for Bihar.
In a talk at Mumbai, he had no compunction in uttering
from his loud mouth that a Bihari doctor had apparently wrongly
pointed to the right side of the anatomy when asked where the spleen
is. One does not know whether the story is true or a result of the
Health Minister's fertile imagination, but his unadulterated bias
against Biharis does come out by quoting this from 70's and ignoring
the considerable success of Bihari students in all disciplines of
academia.
This sad story of blatant anti Bihari bias was reported in the TOI,
Mumbai edition of Oct 29. One can see this article in the epaper of

What should we say to such regional chauvinists who can invoke
unsubstantiated stories from the 70's while ignoring the huge success
that Bihari students have been achieving in the face of adverse
circumstances? Is it not a case of deep seated bias? Can any Bihari
expect any sense of fairness from such hopelessly opinionated chaps?
Do they have any right to continue to hold high office?
One can quote one hundred such stray instances of people from the
home state of Anbumani where the people have spoiled the high
reputation of Indians abroad. And I can say that with personal
experience. Should we take such instances and paint Anbumani's state
black?
Let us bear in mind that such a bias comes in the way of better
prospects of every Bihari youth - whether he is an IIT grad or
whether he is an ordinary graduate from one of the colleges of
Bihar, or for that matter the labourer who has to go out to earn a
living. In fact, the bias is the highest for the weakest section who
are most vulnerable.
Let us at least be aware of such bias, and not start to fall in the
trap of these bogus meritocrats who use it as a ruse to demonise
Bihar. It will be good if we can protest too and make such chaps pay
for their biases.
Thanks
