Barh Mukti Abhiyan-Bihar along with Kosi Pirit Mukti Morcha (Saharsa) and Kosi
Mukti Sangharsh Samiti (Supaul) is organizing a meeting at Muradpur-Chandrayan
High School, (Navhatta), Saharsa on the 5th September 2009 (10.00 hrs) and at
Vivah Bhawan (Saharsa) on the 6th September 2009 (10.00 hrs) to observe 25th
anniversary of the breach near Kedli village (Navhatta) in the eastern Kosi
embankment on the night of 5th-6th September 1984. This breach had engulfed 196
villages and had submerged 70,000 hectares of land in 7 blocks of Saharsa and
Supaul district and uprooted 4.58 lakh people. If the lessons were taken right
that time, the Kusaha Tragedy could have been averted.
