Greetings from Bihar Social Forum.

You must remember, the third major event organised by WSF January
2004 in Bombay. Prior to it Asian Social Forum as organised in Hyderabad in Jan.
2003. In this context Bihar Social Forum was organised. In Bombay Social Forum
Bihar has participated in significant number.
World Social Forum 2007' is going to be held in Nairobi, capital of
Keneya, an African Nation, in January 2007. Prior to it Indian Social Forum is
going to be organised in New Delhi from 9 to 13th November 2006. Before this we
have to organise Bihar Social Forum.
In this context a meeting of BSF was held on 29th July, 2006 in Jan
Shakti Bhawan, Patna. The meeting was presided by Father Josh Kalapura. The
meeting decided to convene a large meeting in which maximum number of public
organisation NGOS and trade Unions may participate. This meeting was decided to
be held on 22nd August, 2006. An organising committee was formed consisting the

The slogan of WSF is an Another world is possible. There is an
attempt to make a better world. But what kind of the world should it be ? WSF
had decided to discuss every years since 2001 onwards.
Better world means better Asia, better Africa, better Indian and
better Bihar, for whom better Bihar ? It is well known that it should be for the
poor, have nots, for land less, for scheduled caste and backwards for children
and woman for people living in the slums and helpless for students and out for
labour and peasant. A proposal for better Bihar will be consideration the
meeting of Bihar Social Forum on 22nd August 2006.
