Based at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, EEVL
is "the Internet Guide to Engineering, Mathematics and
Computing." Its mission "is to provide access to quality
networked engineering, mathematics and computing resources, and be the
national focal point for online access to information in these
subjects. It is an award-winning free service, created and run by a
team of information specialists from a number of universities and
institutions in the UK."
"EEVL: the Internet Guide to Engineering, Mathematics and
Computing" was originally an acronym of "Edinburgh Engineering
Virtual Library". In September 2001, it was expanded to include
mathematics and computing and so the name changed to "Enhanced and
Evaluated Virtual Library." Check it at
http://www.eevl.ac.uk/about.htm.
EEVL has developed an engineering electronic journal search engine
(EESE), searching the content of over 250 freely available full-text
ejournals. Check EEVL's EESE at
