Hey Guys,
I came across this 90-minute documentary called The Persuaders, which
examines how in the words of one on-camera commentator, "the principal
of democracy yields to the practice of demography," as highly
customized messages are delivered to a smaller segment of the market.
The Persuaders follows this new trend in advertising known as "branded
entertainment." Rather than marketing products around a TV show or
other entertainment vehicle, industry insiders predict the future will
bring a seamless blend of marketing and entertainment.
The documentary includes opinions and words from Bob
Garfield(advertising writer), Mark Crispin Miller(media critic), Kevin
Roberts(CEO of Saatchi and Saatchi Advertising), Douglas Atkin(a
partner at advertising agency Merkley + Partners) and Naomi
Klein(author "NO LOGO"). And believe me we all should listen what
these people have to say.
In short I believe this documentary will help us in one way or the other.
