Dear friends and colleagues,

As you are aware, the India Design Council is now in place and the First
Meeting of the Council was held in Mumbai on 18th June 2009. Several issues
were discussed and one of the top priorities currently would be to build an
identity for the Design Council so that stakeholders and people in general
are able to connect with it in a systemic manner.

This is a good beginning for design profession & fraternity in India and I
would appreciate if you share your suggestions / inputs on building the
identity especially an appropriate logo which can be used for India Design
Council. I request you to kindly send your ideas either in PPT or JPEG
format, with brief explanation on the concept. The identity needs to be
equal amount of

1. Institutional looking (authoritative),

2. Equally graphic (simplistic),

3. Given to translation in any of the Indian languages and still retain its
identity,

4. Indian in ethos.

We would like to finalise the identity by the 14th July 2009 and I would
appreciate if you are interested, could send your suggestions so that we can
initiate timely action.
