Perhaps the professional body and the e-group would necessarily have
to be treated differently from each other with separate names.

One is comprised of design practitioners, whose needs would extend
to professional aspects which will be of no real or immediate concern
to people who are not designers. This would require a structure that
is quite different from an e-group as it will, among other things
represent interests of professional designers in various forums and
also liase with other bodies in order to further its interests and
fulfill its stated objectives.

The other, which is the e-group may be visualised as a meeting space
for many other people, much more open and organic and self actualizing
and open ended. Bustling with ideas and interesting conversation.
